hi, as you might remember i started a project about buisness cards for fellows last year.
there have been now been major imporments in the code, both in the handling as well as feature wise.
done: * card generation works * qrcode generation with vcard template works * pdf generation works basically * there are now new templates done by Franz Gratzer from the local fellowship group in vienna. THANKS * there is now some basic dokumentation
TODO: * some minor issues in pdf generation (set correct boxes (crop box, bleed box, ...) * testing (help is welcome) * working to integrate the system into the fellowship site (i'm in contact with reinhard mueller for that)
feedback and impprovments as welcome (both on the code as well as on the templates)
the code can be found at git://git.42.lefant.net/cardgen.git the current set of fellowship templates can be found at http://user.42.lefant.net/~albert/cardgen/cards.tar.bz2
yours, albert

Perhaps someone here can help Albert a bit with the visual part, where to put text, the logo, the QR code, etc.
Best Regards, Matthias

Is the idea that Fellows will be able to choose which design they want, and we will therefore offer multiple designs? Or will there be only one, the six supplied templates all being contenders?
Thanks,
Sam.

I think one would be enough. But I am fine with whatever Albert decides.

Hi everyone,
It just hit me:
Mark is currently designing the new theme called "pome" for the fellowship blog. It's design is very much inspired by the current fsfe.org design.
I think it would be wise to have a fellowship buisness card with the "pome" design as well.
At least discuss it before they go into production.
Actually: I would like to contribute to this. Since I'm involved with testing and bugfixing the theme this makes sense.
Kind regards,
Phil

This is a good idea. However, I think that it is more important that the business cards share the branding of http://fellowship.fsfe.org/, than that they share the blog theme branding.
What are the plans for the design of http://fellowship.fsfe.org/? It's being merged into fsfe.org IIRC - is that so? How the fellowship pages end up looking is important when making decisions about business cards in my view.

Excellent, I'm looking forward to seeing what we end up with!
Sam.

There is already a draft on http://fsfe.org/fellowship/

Something is seriously wrong with the bottom part of that page.

Thanks. When you see stuff like that, just create bug report: https://trac.fsfe.org/fsfe-web/ticket/344

Looking good! I think that should be on test. though, or better yet have this in the head section because it is being indexed and could end up being ranked higher than the official page before it is finished:
<meta name="robots" content="noindex">
Any objections to me adding it? I'd also add a trac ticket reminding us to remove it when the page is finally made public.

Fine with me.
