Hi designers,
I have just prepared a new poster. The intention is to have a simple and clear one, without many frills. It should have the Fellowship colours, according to the guidelines at https://fsfe.org/contribute/designers/styleguide.en.html , the Plussy symbol, the fsfe.org URL and the text "Free Software, Free Society", written with the GnuTypeWriter font.
The purpose is to have a nice poster to be distributed at our booths and among volunteers.
I choose to make a gradient taking the same colour of the Plussy, which fades into transparency at the bottom-right angle. Close to that angle, the Plussy has an aim to balance the green tone in the top-left angle. I am not sure that print results will be satisfying: if in your opinion it's too complicated, we could have a lighter tone of green for the background, the Plussy more in the centre of the poster and a different scheme.
* SVG file under download.fsfe.org/advocacy/posters/poster-fsfs-plussy.svg (wait for rebuild) * PDF attached
Looking forward to receiving your feedback!
Alessandro

Hi folks,
I drafted an other Poster layout fitting to the new "tools folder". It's not about simplicity, but it is ment to look inviting.
The German text on it explains a little bit about what we do in our local fellowship group. The text in the screen is ment to contain the information about time and place of our fellowship meetings.
In Vienna we are thinking right now about the possibility to design a rollup for booths and information desks. (The poster in the attachment is just done for the room where our meetings take place because there are a lot of groups and they should be able to know that and when we meet as well. We want to become more visible as fellowship group.)
Are you interrested in a rollup and the svg source files for it (in order to adapt it for your purposes) as well?
Best Franz

I just saw this and I really like it. Can you post the source files so I can use it in English in the UK?
Thanks!
Sam.
Hi Sam,
of cource you can have the Inkscape source file*, but I didn't do the rollup format yet.
I can send it after I did it - if you want to...
Best Franz

Hi Alessandro,
The gradient colour of the top left corner seems a little bit too dark. Also I spotted the top right and bottom left corner are not filled completely with colour.
I think it's a good poster to inform passing-byers that there is a fellowship nearby. Probably not so helpful for people who don't know anything about the fellowship.
I'm just a little bit concerned about gradients and pdf. It depends on the print shop; but perhaps they are going to have problems with printing gradients. The secure solution is to use gradients only as bitmaps. But you should ask the printshop if they can print this file, if you have the chance.
Regards,
Phil
