Dear all,
Estonian presidency in the Council of the EU is currently asking for ideas for its upcoming ministerial declaration on e-government.
So-called Tallinn Declaration is going to be signed by e-government ministers across the EU in October 2017, together with a number of political proposals on how to build a trustworthy and interoperable digital government. Tallinn Declaration is, therefore, designed to express EU member states' joint vision for e-government and political commitment to follow the goals set.
The proposal for the declaration is currently open for public comments until **14 July**. The FSFE has already provided its comments to the text by stressing the need to explicitly acknowledge Free Software and Open Standards as necessary building blocks for any transparent, accountable and truly interoperable digital government. For more information, please follow the link:

The FSFE encourages you to participate in this public consultation by submitting your comments. Feel free to reuse the arguments laid out above for your own submission and tell the EU ministers that truly inclusive digital government for *all* citizens and businesses is impossible without Free Software and Open Standards.
Please submit your comments here:
Thank you in advance.
Kind regards, Polina
