Does one exist? If not, is anyone aware of any attempts to develop one? Additionally, if not, has anyone got any interest in doing so?

Hello.
Does one exist?
Search engines find a number of them, even if a number of people here prefers free stuff to open source. So the reply is "yes", unless you make a sharper question.
If not, is anyone aware of any attempts to develop one?
I know about the "f-watch" (f can be a four letter word, like "free"), that was on main track at fosdem one month ago. Not often found as "open source smartwatch" by search engines, so worth noting here.

But, again, what is your point?

(Sorry for looking rude, it's not my intention but I know it may look like that.)
I was trying to find one that had the approval of the FSF. Many devices claim to be FOSS but in fact aren't.
I'd done a Google search but didn't find anything particularly 'free'. I presumed that someone here may know of something truly free.
Much like someone asked how free is the Ubuntu phone.
I'm British so that does come across as rude but I can understand language has its own cultural differences. I'm not offended at all :).

On the DIY side of the spectrum, but this http://blog.zakkemble.co.uk/diy-digital-wristwatch/ is probably as close as you can get to a free smartwatch.
this was linked to on the the rhombus-tech.net mailing list regarding something else (search for soc info). So I don't know anything about it but it looks like a hopeful for you.

not copyleft hardware but looks like it might well be possible to liberate. looks like it has a good soc for starters.
