ich benötige ein USB Modem für den Laptop bei Fahrten in Österreich. Jetzt gibt es ja wirklich genügend Data-Angebote, auch halbwegs brauchbare Angebote was die Tarife angeht, da sehe ich weniger Probleme (bin aber natürlich für ein "Finger weg von... weil!" jederzeit offen :-) )
Allerdings brauche ich dazu ja noch ein USB-Modem und ich habe einfach so überhaupt null Erfahrungswerte was derlei unter Linux angeht.

ich geh davon aus du meinst UMTS? (bei modem ohne angaben denk ich immer no an analoges telefon...)
+) Bestimmte Hersteller, die als grundsätzlich recht unkompliziert unter Linux gelten?
also ein n9 funktioniert recht gut... ansonsten: aus gruenden des empfanges is natuerlich auch zu ueberlegen ein internes zu verbauen, wenn moeglich...die lenovo dinger tun soviel ich weisz.
erfahrungen hab i leider keine mit zZ verfuegbaren.

wenn die hw geht, ja.
allerdings: ich kenn genuegen modems die ma regelmaessig ein & ausstecken muss weil sie sich intern einfach aufhaengen zB, ... erfahrungsgemaesz laufen sie oft (wenn sie laufen) unter linux besser als unter win*****, da die hersteller hier relativ crappy sw ausliefern. (ich hatte scho mal ein model wo die gui laufen musste damit der treiber funktioniert....)
