ich habe hier gerade eine Petition zur Einführung von OpenPGP in den Wiener Behörden gesehen. https://www.wien.gv.at/petition/online/PetitionDetail.aspx?PetID=2148a774f48...
Ich denke mal dass da evtl. der eine oder andere mitzeichen möchte. Nachdem es wohl nicht publiziert wurde mach ich das jetzt mal hiermit :)

hmm... also auch wenn ich einen einsatz von openpgp/gpg unterstuetze hab ich mit dieser petition so meine probleme: *) S/MIME ist nicht wirklich ein protokoll und auch ned umbedingt mit kosten verbunden *) konsequentes vermischen von "Freeware" und "open source" *) ...dass alle bestehenden und zukünftigen E-Mail-Adressen der wiener Stadtverwaltung und Nahe stehenden Betrieben für OpenPGP registriert werden. -> hm... "registriert werden"? ich hab den starken verdacht das hier leute am werke sind die nicht wirklich eine ahnung haben was dahinter ist und wie man sinnvoll damit umgehen muss damit das ganze auch einen sinn hatt...

Völlig richtig. Auch wenn ich den Text nur kurz am Telefon überflogen habe, finde ich doch einige Fehler.
Die Grundidee der Petition ist natürlich gut und wichtig!! Nur um das klarzustellen
Die Argumentation ist leider auch gegenüber der Stadt Wien aus technischer Sicht relativ schwer aufrecht zu erhalten. Vor allem das Zusammenspiel zwischen Exchange und dem Outlook Client ist für die Mitarbeiter der Stadt sicher ein Asset. Natürlich kann ich sagen, dass Thunderbird der um Längen besser Email *Client* ist, müsste aber z.b. mit dem Exchange meines Wissens nach über IMAP eingebunden werden, wobei das Calendering hier leiden würde.
Was, falls die Stadt Wien überhaupt interessiert wäre, zu tun ist, ist eine Alternative b.z.w ein Unternehmen zu nennen welches all dies umsetzen kann, und das wäre u.a. Kolab.

davmail ist ganz nett: ein proxy, der nach hinten mit dem exchange redet (ueber OWA) und sich nach vorne als caldav-server praesentiert, den man dann z.b. mit dem lightning-plugin vom thunderbird verwenden kann.
nur so als ergaenzung, falls das jemand braucht :)

Das sehe ich auch so. Hatte selber schon die Idee eine derartige Petition beim Deutschen Bundestag einzureichen. Bin dabei allerdings auch an technischen Verständnis-/Lösungsschwierigkeiten gescheitert. Also GnuPG und thunderbird und so weiter sind mir schon klar. Allerdings wie man diese Form der Verschlüsselung in das IT System einer Behörde einpflegt, das frag ich mich. Da ihr da etwas Ahnung zu haben scheint (Exchange, Kolab ...): Vielleicht habt ihr Interesse eine "stichfeste" Petition zu formulieren, die wir in beiden Ländern verwenden könnten?
Wenn man in Deutschland beispielsweise innerhalb von 60 Tagen 100.000 Stimmen sammelt, dann MUSS der Bundestag den Petenten einladen und ich glaube eine Stunde Anhörung einräumen. Das sind gute Momente um Werbung für die FSFE und Freie Software zu machen...
