Could you help us with a few things? (or forward this message to the
right people)
1) Set up the Finnish press release. We're ready to put out our first
PR, and it would be nice to use the pr-list as an archive of all pr:s.
2) Set up an mail forward so that finland@fsf-anything would go to
finland(a)fsfeurope.org. I've seen and heard that people often by
mistake use the addresses finland(a)fsfe.org, finland(a)fsfeurope.fi etc..
3) We're also setting up our first gathering. It is likely to be at
the Helsinki University on the 9th of December. Could point me to the
official FSFE presentation material or maybe send me some minor booth
stuff that could be useful in a simple 20-min presentation of FSFE?

voin ottaa tilavastuun ja ehdottaa päivämääriä/ajankohtia
Olisiko yleisesti n. klo 17-19 ajankohta ok, jonka jälkeen halukkaat voivat

Unfortunately, I do not know whether a donation to FSFE is
tax-deductable in Finland. FSFE is recognised as a charitable
organisation in Germany and Switzerland. But I really don't know
the what the rules for tax deductions are in Finland.

copy). They might not only know more about the question of tax
deduction, they're also the right people to talk to if you want to
become active for Free Software in Finland.

Otto ilmeisesti laittelee paraikaa lehdistötiedotetta ulos FSFE Suomesta,
ja siinä mainitaan tuo myös. Jos tuo ei kaikille sovi tai yleensäkin jos
siellä ei ehdi varsinaisesti juttelemaan FSFE:stä, niin katsotaan tosiaan
noita muita päivämääriä myös. Lähinnä ajattelin että tammikuullekin saa
mennä jos tuo yksi isompi ihmisten tapaaminen on tuossa 9. päivä.

Euroopan vapaiden ohjelmistojen säätiön (Free Software Foundation
Europe) virallinen Suomen paikallisryhmä (local team) on perustettu.
Paikallisryhmän tehtävänä on edustaa FSFE:tä Suomessa sekä edistää
suomalaisten ja kansainvälisten vapaiden ohjelmistojen toimijoiden
tiedonvaihtoa ja yhteistyötä. Paikallisryhmä toimii myös
suomenkielisenä mediakontaktina sekä asiantuntijalähteenä
suomalaisille päätöksentekijöille ja erityisesti
europarlamentaarikoille.
FSFE:n toimintaan kuuluu vapaiden ja avoimen lähdekoodin
ohjelmistojen (VALO) edistäminen ja VALOn käyttäjien oikeuksien
turvaaminen kaikilla tasoilla. FSFE on mukana lukuisissa
paikallisissa projekteissa ympäri Eurooppaa sekä myös koko EU:ta
koskevissa asioissa. FSFE on EU:n tunnistama asiantuntijataho, joka on
ollut mukana esim. ohjelmistopatentteihin, monopolioikeudenkäynteihin
ja tietoyhteiskunnan edistämistoimenpiteisiin liittyvissä asioissa.
FSFE on osallistunut myös kaikkia länsimaita maailmaa koskeviin
asioihin, kuten WIPO:oon ja ACTA:aan.
FSFE on itsenäinen järjestö mutta se tekee toki tiivistä yhteistyötä
Pohjois-Amerikan Free Software Foundationin kanssa. Sisarjärjestöjä on myös
Etelä-Amerikassa ja Intiassa.

Hyvä, valitaan se. Soitin juuri Tuomas Puikkoselle ja hän sanoi että
päivä on ok ja tila vapaana. Tuomas lupasi varata tilan klo 17:00
alkaen jolloin FSFE-tyyppien tapaaminen klo 17:00-17:45 onnistuu myös.
Teemaillat ovat yleensä alkaneet klo 17:30, mutta voidaan hyvin
aloittaa tällä kertaa klo 18:00 niin sinä ja Riku ehditte paremmin
Tampereelta ja tuo FSFE-ennakkotapaaminen saadaan pidettyä sitä ennen.
Takaraja on lähinnä että tila pitää olla tyhjä klo 20:00 mennessä,
mutta se ei yleensä ole tullut vastaan.
Paikka on siis Helsingin yliopiston Kumpulan kampus, Exactum-rakennus,
Gustaf Hällströmin katu 2B, luokka B222.

Hi, we finally have a first version of the translation system for the account
maintenance pages of the Fellowship website (the /login... and /join... sections
of the website).
The translation system uses GNU gettext: I've added the .pot and .po files for
the site to a new "/am" directory in the "fellowship-test" subversion repo.
(this is the old "fsfe-static" repository, which has been renamed recently, see
this message: https://mail.fsfeurope.org/mailman/private/web/2009-November/003786.html )
Please help testing the new system: just check out or update your working copy
of the "fellowship-test" svn repository, and read the /am/README.txt file for
detailed instructions.
All Fellows have read access to the "fellowship-test" repository, to have write
access (or to have a guest account if you are not a Fellow), just write to
fellowship-hackers(a)fsfeurope.org
