Hi,

My name is Vítor Eulálio Reis, I study Computational Physics at the University of São Paulo  at São Carlos - Brazil (undergraduation).
I am an follower to the free software ideology and wish to learn how to contribute somehow to the comunity.

I am very interested in the internship programme at the FSF in Europe. I have previously talked to the FSF at Boston - US, they could have accepted me but the would not be able to arrange the bureaucracy
for the my US visa on time as I can only attend this programme on my vacation time, december 17th 2013 to february 20th 2014 (~ two months).

I am going to be funded by the IFSC (Institute of Physics at São Carlos - University of São Paulo) so it is about an unpaid internship for FSF. I have won a scholarship for attending an internship abroad.

As I do not need a visa for stay this long in the Schegen Border System, I wonder if you would accept me in there or have any interrest in having an intern by that time.

I code in mainly C and C++ and I just started learning Python and Ruby. I am also familiar with the basics of any Computer Science Course, e.g, data structures, object orienteering, computer networking, ... and I want to get in touch with a more technical approach of such areas. My course does not offer practical skills so this internship would be complementary to my formation, that is the main reason why the IFSC offers such opportunity for some of their students.

This scholarship includes health insurance, plane tickets and US$1500 per month, so the only this FSF would have provide is the opportunity for me to learn.

I see this as an unique oppotunity for having contact with some of the best professionals in the world in the area, which I would not have here in Brazil,  and have the chance to learn fow to develop something methodically.

There is a list of activities I would have to develop in the US, which was made by the person who would be supervising me , Nicolás César, sysadmin at FSF. I would like to know, in case I can attend this internship program, what are the activities would I develop?

I speak a little bit of german and french that might easen the communication.

If you accept me as an unpaid intern, could you provide all the necessary documentation I need to get into europe such as the acceptance letter that proves the purpose in my go?

Thank you very much in advance for the attention,
Hope to hear from you soon,

Vítor Eulálio Reis
