Hello,
Please add the Finnish MEPs (http://www.europarl.fi/ressource/static/files/meppien-yhteystiedot-3-8-2012....) to your listing at http://call.unitary-patent.eu/campaign/call2/unitary-patent-juri-2012?setlan.... At the moment Finland is missing from the country list.
One of them is by the way Nils Torvalds, the father of Linus.
I'm sorry but the campaign is targeting members of the Committee on Legal Affairs (JURI), since this committee has now to decide on the unitary patent project. Other MEPs will have more importance, once (if) the project comes back in plenary. But for now, it is more useful to contact JURI MEPs.
No Finnish MEP is member (nor even substitute) of JURI (see https://memopol.lqdn.fr/europe/parliament/committee/JURI/ or the official http://www.europarl.europa.eu/committees/en/juri/members.html. I guess you are Finnish, but there is no problem for you to contact a MEP from other countries: MEPs are supposed to represent EU citizens, not just those of their home country.
Thanks for your involvement.
PS: Since you are ccing Karsten:
I'm happy that FSFE finally wakes up for the unitary patent, and would be even more happy if FSFE was kind enough to get sure that its own actions are in line with actions from those who work on the subject from its beginning.
For eg. http://fsfe.org/campaigns/swpat/current/model-letter-companies.html is totally absurd and counterproductive. It calls enterprises to support amendments, which by the way I've drafted myself, that were tabled two months ago when the resolution was supposed to be voted in plenary. But as you know, the EP has postponed the vote, and the project is now back on JURI. Amendments will surely be re-tabled, maybe first in JURI and then in plenary, but giving old numbers for these amendments makes no sense. Just link to the source: https://www.unitary-patent.eu/content/amendments-unitary-patent.
Moreover, such confusing informations targeting companies can divert them while a campaign has already been launched: https://www.unitary-patent.eu/content/companies-get-involved-against-software-patents-and-current-proposal-unitary-patent. Please join (as it has been done by April, FFII and StopSoftwarePatent.eu) and help the campaign instead of doing bad job on your own side.
Thanks for your cooperation, we need it more than diversion.
