So I tend to agree with the idea to market the Fellowship with a focus on individuals and donations with a focus on companies.
Still, I believe that donations should remain on the "Contribute" page, since that page doesn't exclusively target on individuals. (A company might as well click on that menu item). Also individuals might read about donations and then talk to their employer.
Maybe the short text could make clearer that the Fellowship is targeted at individuals and donations are targeted at companies.

I know the web team is probably working on restructuring the web page, so they might have better ideas in stock, but here are some small concrete suggestions how to improve the website regarding this matter:
- Keep the Donate-text at http://www.fsfe.org/contribute/contribute.en.html (as Reinhard suggested). It is well placed as the last thing one would read. In general, I like the new Contribute-page very much.
- Move "Donate" in the www.fsfe.org main menu below Contribute or maybe remove it completely, since there are many other ways to end up to the Donate-page anyway.
- Rename the page "Thank GNUs" to something more common that is easier to understand to anybody, like "Donations" or "Supporters". Yes, I know that there are not just "supporters" but also "contributors" and "patrons" etc. but really, how many laughs at the joke embedded in "Thank GNUs"? The page could list both the donors and info about how to donate. Currently there are only indirect links to the donate page and those links are named "here" and "here" (link names should be more descriptive).
- Add some text to http://www.fsfe.org/donate/donate.en.html that tells that it is intended mainly for companies and that individuals should rather consider to join as Fellows (as Reinhard also suggested).
- Possibly even merge the "Thank GNUs" and "Donate" pages? The upper part of the page could explain that the supporter/contributor/patron means and the lower part could list them. Even the payment details could be on the very same page and a text that suggests to individuals to choose the Fellowship rather than just donations.
