Hello,
I haven't sent in a report of our activities for a while, and I thought I should do it know if Karsten or somebody wants to discuss some of these things while we are at FSCONS.

2012-11-06 RMS visited Finland to give talk at Haaga-Helia applied sciences university event
We (the Finnish team) had lunch with RMS at noon before he went to Haaga-Helia to give talks. It was interesting to meet him and have the chance to experience his preaching personally, sitting across a table. We told him about some of the stuff we do in Finland, like the procurement project and we mentioned the Free You Android campaign. Both of these he liked. While mentioning the Free Your Android RMS took the chance to point out that it is wrong to use proprietary JavaScript at Ulule.com in fundraising, and he alleviated his opinion by raising his voice and smashing his fist in the table. Rest of the lunch he also talked about the difference of open and free and the Finnish libre word "vapaa".
In the afternoon and evening I attended the events in Haaga-Helia applied sciences school where RMS had talks. First there was an event for students. During that talk RMS spoke about how Linus hates freedom and similar ranting. He had no slides, he just stood in front of the audience preaching about the need to always talk about GNU together with Linux, how it is wrong to talk about open source, how open source people hates freedom (yes, actually using strong words like "hate"), how JavaScript is bad and he does not use it etc. Some of the public walked out in the middle of the talk. I felt so ashamed due to his preaching style and him not actually talking anything concrete about why freedom is important or how people in the audience can gain freedom.
His other talk later was much better, as he just quickly touched the issues of GNU+Linux and open source semantics, and actually told some useful stuff on how to contribute to Free Software.

2012-11-09 Otto talked at FSCONS about the OpenOffice migrations/initiatives and the procurement project. Made lots of contacts, among other Sara Sivre from the Kultur i Väst organisation in Sweden who wants to start a procurement monitoring project in Sweden with two other persons. Lets see if she later gets back to me.
