Lainaus Matthias Kirschner mk@fsfe.org:
am I right that there will be elections in March 2011? Should we try to start a campaign that Fellows should ask candidates questions about Free Software in Finland? We did something like that in Germany last year and it was quite successful and popular in the Free Software community.
If you are interested, we can already start to figure out how to do it
Yes you are right. The Finnish linux user group (FLUG) has usually handled this thing. I don't know if they'll have resources or active people to do it before this election.
Check out http://www.flug.fi/linuxhallintoon/kunta2008/ and subpages via Google translate.
The software used to collect answers and present them is self-made and works well but isn't very sexy. The FSFE role in this case could be to make a general pre-election-form-to-results -application that could be used with little effort in all of Europe. That would save resources from individual countries to make the infrastructure and they could concentrate on running the campaign itself.. it's a bit late and I'm writing in a hurry but I hope you'll get my idea.
Maybe something based on http://www.limesurvey.org/ ? I haven't tried it..
