We didn't translate the PR, so I guess your current international distribution network works quite well and the topic is interesting :)

Hi,
it's been an exciting couple of days.
Monday's YaCy PR went off like a rocket. We got lots of coverage, Alessandro has a collection of links over here:
http://blogs.fsfe.org/alessandro.polvani/
The high-water mark in terms of coverage so far is probably the Wall Street Journal's tech blog:
http://blogs.wsj.com/tech-europe/2011/11/30/new-open-source-search-not-a-goo...
Which is actually a rather good article, as it dampens some of the excitement over YaCy as a "Google killer".
The WSJ article is based on an article by Web Pro News
http://www.webpronews.com/follow-up-gerloff-chimes-in-on-yacy-2011-11
which mainly consists of a mail I sent to one of their writers yesterday evening.
Best regards, Karsten

very nice, for both!
@Alessandro: You're updating the link collection, right?
YaCy seems to work well as a story.

Hi all,

Oh, and ideas about how to follow up on this unexpected success are highly welcome.
I had an interview with BBC over skype. They want to send that in an BBC audio blog on tuesday.
My recommendation to get follow up:
- find/identify those communities that Karsten and I talked about which would prefer YaCy over Google to organize themself - establish some of such search portals as public robinson peers (this should take just some minutes, including 'branding') - get out new press releases with an interpretation about that: "independency and freedom of informations shows results - stronger exchange of knowledge in some communities using YaCy" or so. In some way this is not an 'artificial' strategy, much more a natural movement where I really believe that this makes sense. However, to guide the baby to walk is not an unfair trick, its just natural care.

we collected a link collection in the YaCy forum at http://forum.yacy-websuche.de/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3403
you may know most of them already. At some point it was not really easy to pick all new links out of the twitter search result about YaCy. Since monday we have almost every second minute a tweet about YaCy. This is still strong.
Greetings, Michael
