PS Jos ette vielä ole testanneet ja raportoineet koneitanne h-nodeen, niin käväiskää osoitteessa www.h-node.org.
Mä olen tutustunut tuohon sivuun aiemminkin, mutta mä en ole koskaan oikein ymmärtänyt miten sitä käytetään. Jos vaikkapa haluan lähettää raportin omasta laitteistostani, niin ainakaan Debian/Ubuntun repoista ei löydy mitään valmista h-node-clienttiä.
H-nodesta on olemassa h-client -ohjelma, jonka tarkoitus on automatisoida raportointia:

Se on vielä kehitysvaiheessa. En ole itse sitä käyttänyt mutta sen pitäisi toimia. Ainoastaan läppäreiden raportoiminen kokonaisuutena ei ole vielä tuettu. Läppärin eri laitteet sillä pitäisi saada raportoitua.
Olen itse raportoinut laitteita h-nodeen manuaalisesti. Ensin boottaan testattavan läppärin Trisquel live-CD:llä. Sitten ajan bashillä komennon "lspci -vmmnn" ja kopioin sen ulostulon h-noden Search- sivulle (http://h-node.org/search/form/en). Sen avulla saan listan laitteista, josta selviää mitkä koneeni laitteista puuttuvat h-nodesta kokonaan ja jotka sinne on jo raportoitu (mutta saattavat tarvita raportin päivitystä).
Tämän jälkeen käyn listan läpi laite laitteelta. Testaan laitteiden toimivuuden ja etsin manuaalisesti kaiken siitä saatavilla olevan tiedon (lähinnä komentojen "sudo lspci -vmmnn" "sudo lspci -nnk" ja "sudo lsusb -v" ulostuloista). Tämä prosessi vaatii hiukan vaivannäköä, mutta on loppujen lopuksi yksinkertainen. Laitteita testaillessa kannattaa olla kirjautuneena h-nodeen, koska muuten ylläpitäjien pitää erikseen hyväksyä anonyymien käyttäjien tekemät raportit.

Jos miettii meidän yhteistyökumppaneita esim. GGS-Data ja Teraset niin tämä on edelleen liian vaikeaa, että voisi heitä pyytää testaamaan ja raportoimaan järjestelmällisesti uudet myyntiin tulevien läppäreiden Linux-yhteentoimivuus. Mutta hyvä jos H-nodella on client työn alla ja toivottavasti sen helppokäyttöisyys olisi samaa tasoa kuin tuo Ubuntun ohjelma 'checkbox-qt' (oletko muuten testannut tuota?).

Eipä ole tullut kokeiltua.
H-noden raportointitavan oppiminen vie kyllä hetken, mutta siihen toottuu ja pian sitten se sujuukin jo kohtuullisen nopeasti. Sitä voisi kyllä nopeuttaa automaatiota lisäämällä itse sivustolla sekä lopulta h-clientin avulla kun se valmistuu. Opparissani ehdotan, että osa laitetiedoista otettaisiin suoraan lscpi:n ulostulosta silloin kun käyttäjä syöttää sen Search-sivulle. Näin esim. uusien laitteiden rekisteröinti olisi nopeampaa ja helppompaa. H-noden pääkehittäjä Antonio Gallo piti opparistani, joten toivottavasti siinä esitetyt kehitysehdotuksen toteutetaan. Milloin muuten viimeksi kokeilit H-nodea?
