Da sehen wir eher, wie schwierig es scheint, zu verstehen, was politik eigentlich ist.
Ich glaube eher, dass du nicht verstanden hast, wie diese Aussage gemeint war. Politisch neutral heißt in kleinster Weise unpolitisch. Nimm zB. überparteiliche Journalisten. Laut Definition sind diese unparteiisch (politisch neutral). Ihre Arbeit jedoch ist politisch höchst wertvoll.
So wie ich die Aussage verstanden habe (ich mag mich auch irren), ist damit eher gemeint, dass die Bestrebungen und Ziele der FSF* keiner politischen Richtung zugeschrieben werden sollten, wie es bei anderen Themengebieten der Politik häufig der Fall ist, und dass die FSF* keine Präferenzen haben sollte, was politische Parteien angeht.
Wobei die FSFla (Latein Amerika) doch anders ist.
