Hier scheint "frei/free" fälschlicherweise im Sinne von "gratis" verwendet zu werden. Die Frage des Preises allerdings ist für uns irrelevant. Die FSFE interessiert, ob eine Software dem Anwender vier Freiheiten [1] garantiert.
Ich kenne keines der Programme und habe mir deshalb erlaubt, unsere Deutschen Fellows mit auf den Verteiler zu kopieren. Allerdings erwarte ich bei den "unfreien" Programmen auch hier relativ wenig Resonanz. Sollten Sie sich für Programme interessieren, die dem Anwender Freiheit zugestehen, können Sie beispielsweise beim Free Software Directory [2] fündig werden.

Es handelt sich allerdings hier nur um Freeware, d.h. Gratissoftware, die jedoch unter einer proprietären, also unfreien Lizenz stehen. zwei dieser Programme greifen zwar auf Freie Software zurück, sind aber selbst proprietär. Ausserdem laufen alle diese Programme ausschliesslich unter Windows.
Wie schon von Herrn Jakobs erwähnt, garantiert keines dieser Programme dem Anwender die vier grundlegenden Freiheiten, wie man es von Freier Software erwartet.

Zu den meisten Programmen kann ich nix sagen, da ich sowas nicht benutze. Als Bildbetrachter ist in meinen Augen der unfreie Irfanview ganz gut. JustZipIt würde ich durch 7-zip (http://www.7-zip.org/de/) ersetzen; 7-zip ist Freie Software.
