Da Microsoft sich in Richtung Open Source bewegt, muss die Verwaltung vielleicht gar nichts unternehmen, sondern einfach abwarten, bis Microsoft dann endlich auch mal Open Source (aber vielleicht nicht gleich freie Software) liefert. Lief ja in der Vergangenheit ja auch häufig so, dass Microsoft als letzter eine anderswo verbreitete technische Errungenschaft eingeführt hat und dafür bejubelt wurde.

Nun, zum einen dauert das sicher noch, bis alle Microsoft-Software Freie Software wird (wenn dieser schöne Tag denn jemals kommen wird), zum anderen gibt es natürlich noch viele weitere proprietäre Anwendungen, die Stadtverwaltungen typischerweise so mit sich ziehen.
Es ist also gut, dass im Koalitionsvertrag nicht gezielt nur 1-2 bekannte Anbieter erwähnt werden, sondern generell die digitale Souveränität beschworen wird (S. 159f).
