Ich sehe hier ebenfalls kein Bauernopfer, nur einen nicht ganz glücklich gewählten Titel.
Was mir an dieser Berichterstattung aber extrem gut gefällt, ist der "Spin", den die ganze Trusted-Computing- Sache genommen hat.
Früher wurde gegen Trusted Computing nur argumentiert, dass es die Sicherheit nicht wirklich erhöhe, und dafür zu viele Freiheiten des Nutzers opfere. Es galt einfach als "schlechter Deal" zwischen Freiheit und Sicherheit.
Heute haben die Trusted-Computing-Entwickler es so weit getrieben, dass ihnen der einzig verkaufbare Vorteil, der vermeintliche Sicherheitsgewinn, auch nicht mehr abgenommen wird. Und sogar ins Gegenteil verkehrt wird: Trusted Computing wird als Sicherheits-Risiko gesehen.
Diese Entwicklung begrüße ich sehr! Eine solche Wendung hätte ich damals, als Trusted Computing aufkam, nie für möglich gehalten.

Das ist aber nicht das gleiche. Hier unterstellst Du allen Herstellern, dass sie das Interesse haben.
Dann packen wir meinetwegen noch ein "könnte" hinzu, dann ist das jetzt wirklich genau gleichbedeutend, aber IMHO ist die zweite Variante deutlich leichter zu lesen und auf Anhieb zu verstehen:

Damit wird genau genommen schon vor einem Aspekt von Windows 8 gewarnt; aber erheblich begrenzer, als sich das verkürzt darstellt. Sonst würden praktisch alle vor Windows 8 warnen, weil es da in vielen Aspekten Risiken gibt. Die Kritik des BSIs (und der Bundesregierung) an Windows 8 mit TPM 2.0 ist aus meiner Sicht nachhaltig und gravierend. Am wirksamsten ist sie präzise angewandt.
Schön aus meiner Sicht: "Generell sollte es IT-Anwendern ermöglicht werden, einen selbstbestimmten und eigenverantwortlichen Umgang mit Informationstechnik zu pflegen. Dazu gehört beipielsweise auch die Möglichkeit, nach eigenem Ermessen alternative Betriebssysteme und Anwendungen einsetzen zu können."

Und ist nicht das eines unserer größeren Probleme?
Erleben wir das derzeit nicht bei der Frage der Verschlüsselung, wo der Haupteinwand ist, diese sei zu unbequem, kompliziert, kurz zu anstrengend?
Wenn keine "wirklich sichere" "Ein-Klick"-Lösung geboten wird, können Demokratie und bürgerliche Freiheit ruhig den Bach 'runtergehen?

Aber das BSI ist doch eigentlich bekannt dafür, dass es den mündigen Nutzer / Administrator kennt und fördert. In den Verwaltungen richtet sich aber (deshalb?) im Zweifel niemand nach dem Empfehlungen des BSI.

Nein, wieso denkst Du das sei so?
Und ist nicht das eines unserer größeren Probleme?
Meines Erachtens nach nicht. Die größten Probleme sind Ernährungs- und Wasserknappheit, Gier und Umweltverschmutzung. Und bei deren (auch indirekter) Bekämpfung ist die Mündigkeit hilfreich, aber weder hinreichend noch Voraussetzung.
Sicher haben Monsanto, Coca-Cola/Nestlé, Deutsche Bank und Shell alle auch Aktien in den Bereichen, die freie Software behindern, aber vordringlich ist die Tendenz zur Flucht vor den Zumutungen der Mündigkeit in diesen nicht wichtig.
Erleben wir das derzeit nicht bei der Frage der Verschlüsselung, wo der Haupteinwand ist, diese sei zu unbequem, kompliziert, kurz zu

Das hat aber doch mit Unmündigkeit wenig zu tun.

Hierzu gehören Anwender, die sich aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht um die Sicherheit ihrer Systeme kümmern können oder wollen, sondern dem Hersteller des Systems vertrauen, dass dieser eine sichere Lösung bereitstellt und pflegt. Dies ist ein berechtigtes Nutzungsszenario, der Hersteller sollte jedoch ausreichende Transparenz über die möglichen Einschränkungen der bereitgestellten Architektur und mögliche Folgen des Einsatzes schaffen.

So einfach macht es sich das BSI nicht. Ich denke die Behörde hat wegen des Zeit Artikels ganz schön Druck bekommen. Wir mögen es vielleicht nicht gern wahrhaben, aber vermutlich ist es so. Ein Gerät unter der Prämisse zu kaufen: "Hardwarehersteller X und Betriebssystemsoftwarehersteller Y, denen vertraue ich jetzt mal", scheint mir durchaus eine verständliche Strategie bestimmter Nutzergruppen zu sein.
Hierzu gehören Anwender, die sich aus verschiedenen Gründen nicht um die Sicherheit ihrer Systeme kümmern können oder wollen, sondern dem Hersteller des Systems vertrauen, dass dieser eine sichere Lösung bereitstellt und pflegt. Dies ist ein berechtigtes Nutzungsszenario, der Hersteller sollte jedoch ausreichende Transparenz über die möglichen Einschränkungen der bereitgestellten Architektur und mögliche Folgen des Einsatzes schaffen.
Es fehlt die Gebrauchsanleitung, halt so was wie: "Achtung Microsoft ist unter amerkanischer Gesetzgebung gezwungen verdeckt mit der NSA zu kooperieren. Damit ist anzunehmen, dass ein NSA unterschriebenes Sonderbinary sich als eines von Microsoft ausgeben könnte ohne dass Sie es mit Microsoftboardmitteln bemerken. Eine Möglichkeit ihr eigenes Unternehmenszertifikat als Einziges einzuspielen haben sie nicht."

Wer nicht weiß, wem er sonst vertrauen sollte und wem er welches Geld geben muss, damit es unabhängigere Überprüfungen gibt, der fährt damit wahrscheinlich sogar gut. Das schöne an der BSI Meldung ist, dass sie klar auch zeigt, das die Bedrohungsanalysen echt sind und Sicherheit nie absolut. Dann können die Nutzer mit Ihrem Geld (oder Komfort) entscheiden, was sie tun oder lassen möchten.

Wenn Du weißt, welches Gericht sie erlassen hat (fliegender Gerichtstabd), dann könnte Du bei Gericht eine Abschrift anfordern. Die zeit müsste sie natürlich auch haben.
Derartige gerichtliche Entscheidungen sind in Deutschland weder geheim, noch unterliegen sie dem Urheberrecht, dürfen also veröffentlicht werden.
Mich würde die Begründung interessieren.
Die ist meist sehr kurz und verweist oft nur auf die Antragsschrift.

Ich kann mir nicht vorstellen, dass Microsoft sich da was gutes Tut. Die Presse wird nun noch aufmerksamer über das Thema berichten insbesondere auch über dieses Verfahren und sollten sie den Prozess auch noch verlieren...
Naja, aber nach Windows 8, Xbox One ist das nicht ungewöhnlich. Über Fettnäpfen zu wandern scheint immo deren Lieblingsfortbewegung zu sein...

Auch als User. Seit die Uni Bern den letzten Unix-SMTP Server ausgeschaltet hat, muss ich als Angestellter dort Exchange oder Outlook Web App benutzen. Beides funktioniert nur halb. Mit meinem Linux System kann ich auch mit dem fast neusten Thunderbird keine Mails mehr verschicken, noch finde ich jemand, der das einrichten kann: wer mir helfen könnte, will oder darf es nicht, wer möchte oder sollte, kann es nicht.
