ich benutze seit geraumer Zeit freie Software.
nun möchte ich anderen ebenso den Zugang dazu ermöglichen, indem ich freie Software an unserer Hauptschule vorstelle. Hauptschule weil hier tendenziell eher einkommensschwache Gruppen zu finden sind. Stichwort Chancengleichheit.
Nun meine Frage:
Darf ich das?
Wenn ja, gibts irgendwo schon Zusammenfassungen oder Vorlagen über die Organisationsstruktur, oder sonstige grundlegende Informationen?

Ja! An der Stelle möchte ich jedoch nochmal betonen, dass sich Freie Software nicht über die Kostenlosigkeit definiert. Freie Software muss immer auch für die kommerzielle Nutzung zur Verfügung stehen.
Man darf Freie Software jedoch nach Belieben weiterverteilen, sowohl kostenlos, als auch gegen eine Gebühr. Man ist unter Umständen dazu verpflichtet auf Anfrage auch den entsprechenden Quelltext verfügbar zu machen.

Ich wüsste nicht, was dagegen sprechen sollte. Gut ist natürlich immer, wenn dein Vorhaben von mehreren Lehrern / der Direktorin unterstützt wird.
Wenn ja, gibts irgendwo schon Zusammenfassungen oder Vorlagen über die Organisationsstruktur, oder sonstige grundlegende Informationen?

Wir arbeiten in krems (niederösterreich) an einem öffentlichkeitsprojekt für freie software. Da der ursprung aus dem schulbereich kommt sind wir gerade dabei einen folder für kids zu gestalten (und hoffen so auch die eltern zu erreichen, bei denen die vorbehalte ja meist grösser sind als bei den schülerInnen selbst). Der folder ist "noch nicht ganz fertig". Ich schicke ihn dir wegen dateigrösse am besten privat.
Es gibt hier auch eine schule, die komplett auf freie software umgestellt hat und eine eigene schuldistribution als live-system (fokus auf USB-Stick version) entwickelt - eine digitale schultasche inclusive betriebssystem sozusagen. Inwieweit die enthaltenen programme für deine schule passen müsstest du dir anschauen. Siehe http://www.linuxadvanced.at/.
Sofern du nicht ohnehin in eine bundeslandweite musterlösung eingebunden bist - aber dazu kenne ich das deutsche bildungssystem zu wenig.

Der finanzielle Aspekt steht ja bei Freier Software nicht im Mittelpunkt, es bietet sich daher eher an, andere Argumente für Freie Software anzusprechen. Hinzukommt im schulischen Umfeld: ganz ehrlich - wer bezahlt denn da für Software? ;-) Durch persönliche Erfahrungen und einige Gespräche erscheint hier der Weg über rechtliche Fragen fruchtbarer. D.h. erstmal deutlich machen das die Kopie oder Nutzung auf mehreren Computern von $proprietäres_Programm mglws. eine Rechtsverletzung darstellt, die potentiell zu Strafe führt. (Man müsste das nochmal überprüfen, aber: bei einer Hausdurchsuchung wegen $andere_böse_Sache, könnte dies als Zufallsfund quasi nebenbei mit verfolgbar werden...)
Na - und dann ist es nur ein kleiner Schritt zu den Stärken Freier Software ;-) Das Programm/Betriebsystem kann von der Schule direkt mit nach Hause genommen werden und es hat nix "rechtliche Grauzone" oder "Sicherheitskopie" oder wieauchimmer.
Je nach Interessenlage der Schüler und Schülerinnen sind vielleicht auch die anderen Freiheiten interessant. Die Möglichkeit, das Programm zu verstehen, da man den Quellcode begucken kann, sowie das Programm zu verändern (vielleicht im Rahmen des Informatikunterrichts / Jahres- bzw. Seminararbeit / Schul-AG etc.)

[ @alle: bei Langeweile über die Feiertage: es müsste da das ein oder andere ins .de übergesetzt werden ;-) ]
Wir sind gerade dabei diesen Arbeitsbereich neu auszurichten, arbeiten an Handreichungen und Flyern, aber das befindet sich noch im Entwurf.
