Hallo Leute,
kennt jemand von Euch einen PDA (ausgenommen vom Agenda VR3, den gibts anscheinend leider nicht mehr), der vollständig mit Freier Software arbeitet?
Bei dem Sharp Zaurus und Gmate Yopy konnte ich das bisher nicht in Erfahrung bringen... Das scheint für mich bisher aus einem Gemisch Freier und proprietärer Software zu bestehen. Vielleicht weiß jemand mehr?

Im Zaurus-ROM ist z.B. Opera drin. Alternative zum ROM siehe www.openzaurus.org. Ob das vollständig frei ist, weiß ich nicht.

Die Quellen sind nur per BitKeeper verfügbar, was m.E. eine GPL-Verletzung darstellt.

Aber nur wenn sie auch Binaries veröffentlichen. Binaries ohne Source tarball halte ich allerdings fuer einen groben Fehler - im CVS/Bitkeeper wird nie exakt dieselbe Version zu finden sein wie in den gebauten Sourcen (z.B. wegen gettext, andere autoconf version etc. )

Laut http://www.pro-linux.de/news/2002/4235.html gibt es den Agenda VR3 durchaus noch, sogar eine Version mit mehr RAM und zu einem recht attraktiven Preis, auch wenn man ihn aus Kanada bestellen muss. Die Meinungen ueber den VR3 gehen weit auseinander, manche sagen er sei der beste PDA, andere halten ihn fuer den schlechtesten. :)
Ich habe selbst einen und kann beide Meinungen zumindest nachvollziehen...
