Freiheit in der digitalen Gesellschaft: Party für Freunde Freier Software
Freunde Freier Software haben seit Anfang März einen neuen Ort, an dem sie sich treffen und austauschen können: Die Fellowship der Free Software Foundation Europe (www.fsfe.org). Um den Start des Portals gebührend zu feiern, veranstalten die Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) und das Netzwerk für Freie Software Newthinking eine Fellowship-Party.
Am 19.3. ab 19 Uhr treffen sich Interessierte und Mitglieder der Fellowship im Freie Software Fachgeschäft in Berlin-Mitte (Tucholskystr. 48). Was sonst nur im Internet stattfindet, wird hier erlebbar. Besucher können sich über Freiheit in der digitalen Gesellschaft und Freie Software informieren. Sie erfahren, wie sie über die Fellowship gemeinsam ihre digitale Freiheit verteidigen können.
Auf der Party wird auch die CryptoCard vorgestellt, mit der Mitglieder der Fellowship ihre elektronische Kommunikation ebenso sicher schützen können wie ihre Daten. Damit gelangt so starker Datenschutz erstmals in die Reichweite normaler Computernutzer. Mit der Karte können sie E-Mails signieren, Daten ver- und entschlüsseln und sich per single-sign-on bequem und sicher auf ihrem Rechner anmelden.
