schade, das sich noch niemand zu diesem Thema äußern wollte auf dieser Liste. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass es an dem (leider) nicht optimal gewähltem Betreff liegt...
Auf dem C3 gibt es zu dem Thema noch einen kurzen Talk[0] (leider auch in Englisch), der sich mit dem Thema beschäftigt.

Du machst den Anfang. Finde ich gut. Welchen besseren Betreff schlägst Du vor?
Desweiteren geht in US der Kampf jetzt richtig los. Und ich persönlich halte es für wichtig, dass sich auch die europäische Zivilgesellschaft einmischt und für Netzneutralität kämpft. Das Europaparlament hat für Europa noch einmal betont, dass Netzneutralität in ganz Europa gilt und es nicht beabsichtigt sei, hier eine Änderung herbeiführen zu wollen. (Das mag an Walter Ulbricht erinnern. "Niemand hat die Absicht, eine Mauer zu bauen".)
Ich bin der Überzeugung, dass die Abschaffung der Netzneutralität in der grössten Ökonomie der Welt mit Sicherheit spürbare negative Auswirkungen im Rest der Welt hervorrufen wird. Viele Protokolle im Netz arbeiten mit Zeitvorgaben und wenn diese nicht mehr eingehalten werden, ist das Ergebnis halt "timeout. no response ...".
Viele Befürworter der Abschaffung der Netzneutralität mögen sich auf ihrer Insel wohl fühlen. Bei genauer Betrachtung ist US ja von Wasser umgeben :D

Anfangs wollte ich dazu nichts schreiben da ich mir dachte, es gebe bestimmt Personen die das besser beurteilen könnten als ich. Nun will ich mich doch äußern.
Gerade ohne Netzneutralität halte ich freie Software für um so wichtiger, DRM für noch Hinderlicher und die 4 Freiheiten für um so bedeutender auch für nicht Techniker, wenn diese einmal in den Genuss dieser Gekommen sind.
Proprietäre Lösungen, basieren immer stärker darauf, dass Irgendwo ein Server steht dem irgendwelche Daten gesendet werden, auf Basis derer er dann Irgendwelche befehle zurücksendet. Ohne Netzneutralität könnte es vorkommen, dass bei Geräten vom "falschen" Hersteller es etwas länger dauert bis diese Daten beim Server sind und die befehle wieder beim gerät. Oder die Geräte sind im Fall eines Software Updates noch länger nicht funktionsfähig als die vom anderen Hersteller weil das Update länger zum laden braucht als notwendig.
DRM nicht nur bei Medien sondern auch als "Kopierschutz" von Proprietärer Software basiert im Extremfall darauf, dass das Programm Sofort Terminiert wenn es nicht vom Herstellerserver Regelmäßig gesagt bekommt, dass es weiterlaufen darf. Wenn nun das Programm ständig einfriert oder sogar abstürzt weil die Übertragungsqualität nicht gegeben ist, ist das ein Problem.
Die Geschichte zeigt zudem, Netzneutralität für angemessenere Preise pro DatenVolumen sorgt, da nicht mit einem 0-rating für einzelne Dienste Kunden für überteuerte Verträge gelockt werden können. Bei freier Software, kann ich mir bei geringem Datenvolumen behelfen, indem ich zum Beispiel diverse Updates im Freundeskreis verteile wie das unter anderem F-Droid möglich macht. Bei Proprietärer Software erlaubt das unter Umständen der Richteinhaber der Software nicht.
