Hallo zusammen,
aus aktuellem Anlass suche ich nach einem Verzeichnis, in dem Freie Software für verschiedene Verwendungszwecke gelistet ist, sprich auch Alternativen zu proprietärer Software. Konkret wäre das vor allem für CAD, Arztpraxen, Buchhaltung und Anwaltskanzleien.
Natürlich könnte man sich die Zeit nehmen und in diversen Maillisten und durch Internetrecherchen passende FS finden, aber ein zentrales Verzeichnis wäre sehr praktisch. Wenn es sowas nicht gibt, wäre das nicht ein tolles Projekt für die FSF(E)? Vielen Endusern würde das doch erheblich dabei helfen, den (allmählichen) Umstieg auf FS zu schaffen, indem sie langsam jede Software durch freie ersetzen (auch wenn es nur auf einem Windows-Host ist).

1. Der Begriff der "Alternative" ist in verschiedener Hinsicht problematisch. - ich kann das gerne Ausführen, aber das wird dann eine längere Abhandlung. Zum Einstieg in die Problematik (betreffend Betriebssysteme):

2. Die verschiedenen Verzeichnisse (für Anwälte z.B.

http://www.juraforum.de/fuer-anwaelte/kanzleiorganisation/kanzleisoftware-fr... (dort fälschlicherweise "freeware" genannt))
führen auch Freie Software auf.
Gerade auf den angesprochenen Gebieten (CAD, Arztpraxen, Buchhaltung, Kanzleien) ist die Wahl der richtigen Software eine grundlegende Entscheidung, die sorgfältiger Vorbereitung bedarf. Ich bezweifele, dass dabei ein "Alternativenkatalog" der FSFE wirklich hilfreich wäre.
Natürlich könnte man sich die Zeit nehmen und in diversen Maillisten und durch Internetrecherchen passende FS finden, aber ein zentrales Verzeichnis wäre sehr praktisch.

Hinzukommt, dass dort nicht nur Programme aufgeführt werden müssten, sondern sinnvollerweise auch Supportmöglichkeiten, was die Arbeit nochmals vervielfacht.
Disclaimer: Dies ist nur _meine_ unmaßgebliche Meinung zum Thema.

Ich habe schon des öfteren Hinweise auf Freie Software aus der Wikipedia erhalten.
Hier kann jede/r bei verfügbarer Zeit vorhandene Listen ergänzen und aktualisieren.
