Das ist schwer zu sagen, ich vermute unter anderem die Anmeldepflicht. Wir bekommen die Räume allerdings nur wenn wir das Anmeldesystem nutzen.

Ich möchte bei der Gelegenheit alle darum bitten bei solchen Geschehnissen uns auch direkt Bescheid zu sagen, weil wir nicht immer alle Mailinglisten mitlesen können und es äußerst ungeschickt ist, falsch Veranstaltungsankündigungen auf der Homepage zu haben.

Bei uns auf der Liste kam die Frage nach dem Sinn solch einer allgemeinen Veranstaltung auf. Es wurde angeregt, eher spezifischere Veranstaltungen zu planen (wie z.B. die Libreboot FlashDays). Ich denke es hat eigentlich für beides seinen Platz.

Klar, beides macht auch aus meiner Sicht Sinn. Wichtig scheint mir zu klären, wie man denn an die jeweilige Zielgruppe ran kommt. Ich habe z.B. in Mülheim an der Ruhr eine Veranstlatung zur E-Mail-Verschlüsselung angeboten, die ich im September 2016 an der dortigen VHS und bei einem Verband für Lehrer im Berusbildenden Bereich anbieten werde. Die erste Veranstaltung ist über Wolf- Dieter und den Mülheimer Treff beworben worden, die kommenden Veranstaltungen werden in den jeweiligen Programmen der Täger auftauchen. Bin mal gespannt.

Die regelmäßigen Veranstaltungen in Styrum erscheinen mehrere Wochen vorher im Programm des Trägers, ergänzt durch Handzettel, deren Verteilung auch mehrere Wochen vorher beginnt. Das Repair-Café ist auch eine regelmäßige und damit bekannte Veranstaltung, für die Wolf-Dieter in der Woche vor der Durchführung regelmäßig per E-Mail Werbung macht und auf die örtliche Presse zugeht.
Für den LPD hat die Werbung mit dem bekannt Werden des Termins begonnen. Wir haben auf unseren Veranstaltungen immer wieder darauf hingewiesen. Wolf-Dieter hat dann vor ca. drei Wochen begonnen mehrere Rundmails an einen Verteiler von 300 Leuten zu versenden und hat in der vorigen Woche die örtliche Presse besucht. Unsre Lösung, auch Älteren so konkrete Antworten und möglichst nur dann technische Details, wenn sie unglaublich wichtig für das Verständnis sind, hat sich hier ganz gut bewährt. Wir führen auch nicht verschiedene Distributionen vor, sondern lediglich diejenige, die wir bei den Einteigerterminen nutzen.
So wird aus unsrer Sicht eine Konzeption draus.

Es lohnt sich meiner Meinung nach, einmal genauer darüber nachzudenken, welche Veranstaltungen man wem anbietet. Wenn man da Klarheit hat, kann man vielleicht unnötigen Aufwand oder Enttäuschungen vermeiden.
In Mülheim an der Ruhr bieten wir Veranstaltungen an, die Windows-Nutzern den Umstieg auf GNU/Linux erleichtern soll und unterstützen sie auch nach dem Umstieg. Wir haben damit als Zielgruppe _alle_ Windows-Nutzer, die mit Windows unzufrieden sind. Man kann also hoffen, daß man bei geeigneter Information und einem Konzept, das dieser Zielgruppe gerecht wird, eine größere Gruppe von Menschen erreicht. Ich bin mal gespannt, ob sich das bei "Linux im Alltag" am kommenden Samstag wieder zeigt.
Was für mich zu bedenken ist, ist daß diese Leute ganz überwiegend noch nie ein Betriebssystem installiert haben und meistens auch technisch so wenig versiert sind, daß sie das ohne Probleme können. Es ist deswegen notwendig, eine Distribution zu wählen, deren Installations-Programm möglichst wenige Anforderungen stellt. Das ist für uns bisher die von XUBUNTU. Leider muß man auch dort eingreifen, um eine sinnvolle Partionierung zu erhalten: / und /home jeweils auf eine eigene Partition.
Damit wird dann auch vorbereitet, daß diese Menschen später ohne größere Probleme auf eine andere Distribution wechseln können. Dies werden sie erst machen, wenn sie sich in XUBUNTU sicher fühlen und das Bedürfnis haben zu wechseln. Für diese Leute macht es dann auch Sinn, eine Veranstaltung anzubieten, in der unterschiedliche Distributionen vorgestellt werden. Leute, die von Windows wechseln, können meiner Überzeugung nach in der Regel nichts mit einem Vergleich von Distributionen anfangen, die Komplexität schreckt sie eher von einem Wechsel ab. Die Zielgruppe für eine derartige Veranstaltung ist naturgemäß drastisch kleiner als die der Windows-Wechsler, sie ist auch deutlich schwerer zu erreichen, man wir mit kleinen Zahlen rechnen müssen.
In der Mitte liegen für mich Veranstaltungen wie "Einführung in die E-Mail- Verschlüsselung". Da man das unabhängig vom Betriebssystem machen kann, ist hier die Zielgruppe wieder deutlich größer. Eine derartige Veranstaltung bietet auch Gelegenheit, über Freie Software aufzuklären und dafür zu werben.
Veranstaltungen wie z.B. zur freedombox oder LibreBoot, die ich auch für sehr sinnvoll halte, richten sich an ein Publikum, daß technisch recht versiert sein muß und im Feld der digitalen Technik auch politisch denkt. Diese Zielgruppe ist sehr klein und schwer zu erreichen; ich vermute meistens durch persönliche Ansprache. Man muß sich also auf wenige Teilnehmer einstellen. Das Angebot lohnt Sicht aus meiner Sicht dennoch.
