Der Prototype Fund unterstützt Programmierer*innen dabei, ihre Projektideen vom Konzept bis in die Betaversion umzusetzen.
Wir fördern Public Interest Tech mit Mitteln des Bundesministeriums für Bildung und Forschung: Mit einer Anschubförderung von bis zu 47.500 Euro Fördersumme pro Prototyp, sowie Coachings, Vernetzung und Beratung unterstützen wir innovative Ansätze mit Impact: Das können Tools für mehr Datensicherheit, Software-Infrastruktur für systemübergreifende Zusammenarbeit, Applikationen zur Datenanalyse oder andere Civic-Tech-Projekte sein.

Voraussetzungen:
- Ihr seid Einzelentwickler*innen oder ein kleines, interdisziplinäres
Team mit einer Idee für innovative Open-Source-Software.
- Ihr seid volljährig und habt einen Wohnsitz in Deutschland.
- Ihr verfügt (spätestens bei Projektbeginn) über eine deutsche
Steuernummer als Selbständige oder seid für die Projektlaufzeit (anteilig) als Selbständige vom Arbeitgeber freigestellt.
- Teams müssen sich für den Förderzeitraum zu einer GbR zusammenschließen.

47500€ ist ungefähr die Summe, die ich für die *Einführung* von GNU/Linux an der HU Berlin bräuchte (Personalkosten). Da der Prototype Fund vermutlich nicht die *Einführung* von "innovativen Software-Ideen" fördert: Ich bräuchte unbedingt einen Fonds, der die Umsetzung/Einführung von FLOSS fördert. Kennt da jemand etwas?
Die Realität sieht nämlich leider (zumindest für mich) so aus, dass die IT mehr oder weniger fest in Hand proprietärer Stukturen ist, man dann "FLOSS Software X" als Alternative vorschlägt, dies sogar auf Interesse stößt, es dann allerdings daran scheitert, dass es keine personellen Ressourcen dafür gibt, sie einzuführen. So auch an der HU Berlin.
