Eine Weiterfuehrung der Diskussion ist natuerlich auch in unserem Interesse!

ja, das habe ich auch schon gemacht, auf der ffs-liste (verein zur foerderung freier sw). mehrere meinungen zu diesem doch nicht ganz einfachen thema sind aber immer interessant.

Sofern in ihrem Fall ein großer Nutzen dadurch entsteht, dass auch proprietäre Weitereinwicklung -- "kommerziell" ginge nämlich auch mit der GNU GPL -- erlaubt wird, so schlage ich die Verwendung der Lesser GNU General Public License (LGPL) vor. Damit würde nur eine Lizenz gebraucht.
das ist in userem fall nicht moeglich, da es sich nicht nur um eine library handelt. ausserdem waere unser geschaeftsmodell dann obsolet.
Aus meiner Erfahrung heraus funktioniert ein Geschäftsmodell viel besser, wenn es den Wert auch ohne Doppellizensierung zuverlässig schöpft.

Die FSF Europe wäre üblicherweise der Treuhänder, welche die Schwesterorganisation der FSF ist.
Diese kann dann über die Form der Lizensierung als Freie Software entscheiden. Das spezielle Vertragswerk der FLA für diese Übertragung läßt keine Lizensierung als proprietäre Software zu. Insofern ist die FLA für eine Doppellizensierung mit propritärer Lizenz nicht geeignet.
Die Rechte am Dokument selbst hat übrigens die FSF Europe, weshalb es nicht ohne Genehmigung von anderen möglichen Treuhändern geändert oder verwendet werden kann.
zur ausgangssituation: wir haben einen bestehenden open source code "open vxi" (lizenz: http://www.speech.cs.cmu.edu/openvxi/OpenVXI_1_4/License.txt)
Dies ist eine Freie Software Lizenz ohne besonderen Schutz der Freiheit und nach meiner schnellen Einschätzung inkompatibel mit der GNU GPL.
die liste um die ffs war da anderer meinung (dass die openvxi-lizenz kompatibel ist; was ich auch so sehe). ich waere ihnen aber dankbar, wenn sie ihre bedenken kurz zusammenfassen
Es handelt sich praktisch um eine OpenBSD Lizenz, allerdings die modifizierte, nicht die orginale. Insofern wäre es wahrscheinlich doch GNU GPL kompatibel.
Stellt pvx zusammen ein abgeleitetes Werk dar,
gibt es hierzu irgendwo eine definition, was genau ein abgeleitetes werk ist?
Es sollte aus dem Urheberrecht hervorgehen und wird durch die aktuelle Rechtssprechung interpretiert. Insofern ist das schwer wasserdicht zu machen.
