Jeden 2. Montag im Monat heißt es ab sofort: Bühne frei für Freie Software.
Die FSFE fellowship Gruppe Leipzig läd ins Kulissenzimmer des sublab ein zum kennenlernen, diskutieren, 'socializen' und lekker Vorträge hören. Los geht es am 8.11.2010 um 20:00 Uhr mit einem Vortrag über die aktuellen Kampagnen und Arbeitsbereiche der Free Software Foundation Europe. Die "Montagsrunde: Freie Software" ist eine offene Veranstaltung rund um sozio-kulturelle Fragen Freier Software. Alle Interessierten sind herzlich willkommen, die den Themenbereich "Freie Software - Freie Gesellschaft" spannend finden.
Jeder verwendet täglich Software: unsere Gesellschaft wäre ohne Computer und Software nicht denkbar. Diese ist jedoch nicht nur Arbeitsmittel sondern auch Bildungs- und Machtinstrument. Es lohnt es sich also Software ethisch, politisch und sozio-kulturell zu betrachten - unabhängig von den technischen Details. Was bedeutet es, wenn wir uns an die Software anpassen müssen, weil "der Computer" vorgibt, wie wir zu arbeiten haben? Wenn unsere Gedanken und Ideen in Dateien gespeichert sind, für die es nur ein einziges Programm zum öffnen gibt? Wenn wir nicht kontrollieren können, mit welchen Informationen Software "nach Hause telefoniert"? Wie kann sich eine Gesellschaft entwickeln, die von den Programmen einer einzigen privatwirtschaftlich organisierten Firma abhängig ist? Die 4 Freiheiten – Software zu benutzen, zu studieren, zu verbessern und weiterzugeben – fordern diese Wirtschafts- und Gedankenmonopole heraus; helfen, die digitale Schere zu schliessen und passen einfach zu besser in eine offene und inklusive Gesellschaft.

== Über das sublab == Der Hackerspace sublab ist ein Ort zum gemeinsamen, themenübergreifenden Arbeiten, Forschen und Spielen mit Technik. Das sublab kombiniert öffentliche Räume mit in sich geschlossenen Arbeitsstätten und stellt eine Struktur für die verschiedene Zugänge zu Technik bereit, sei dies nun Hardware, Hacking, Medienkunst oder Hacktivism. Eingebettet in die Plagwitzer (Sub)Kulturszene rund um das Westwerk entstehen Synergien ungewöhnlichster Art, die alle bereichern.
== Über die Free Software Foundation Europe ==
Die Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) ist eine gemeinnützige, regierungsunabhängige Organisation, die in vielen Ländern Europas aktiv und in vielen globalen Aktionen involviert ist. Der Zugang zu Software entscheidet über die Teilhabe an der digitalen Gesellschaft. Um Chancengleichheit im Informationszeitalter und die Freiheit des Wettbewerbs sicherzustellen, widmet sich die Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE) der Förderung Freier Software, welche dadurch definiert wird, dass sie von jedem Menschen uneingeschränkt benutzt, untersucht, verändert und weitergegeben werden kann. Dies ins öffentliche Bewusstsein zu rücken und der Freien Software politische und rechtliche Sicherheit zu verschaffen, sind die wichtigsten Ziele der FSFE, die 2001 gegründet wurde.
