] == Notre mouvement vient de fêter ses 30 ans ! == Le 27 septembre 1983, Richard Stallman a diffusé l'annonce du projet GNU[1]. Une initiative dont le point de départ était la frustration d'un programmeur liée au fonctionnement peu satisfaisant d'un driver d'imprimante[2] a changé notre société. L'idée de logiciels que chacun peut utiliser, étudier, partager et améliorer[3] a montré sa force. Le projet GNU a été le point de départ d'un mouvement qui s'assure que nous puissions contrôler la technologie plutôt que se soit elle qui nous contrôle. Aujourd'hui les Logiciels Libres sont partout : ils font fonctionner l'Internet, nos téléphones portables, les télévisions, les voitures, des routeurs et toutes sortes d'équipements électroniques. Le Logiciel Libre a fondamentalement changé la façon dont l'on crée des logiciels : plutôt qu'empêcher les gens d'adapter les logiciels à leurs besoins, il les invite à participer au développement. La FSFE est reconnaissante envers Richard Stallman pour avoir déclenché ce changement marquant ainsi qu'envers tout ceux qui ont rejoint le mouvement pour mener la progression du Logiciel Libre pendant trois décennies. == Encourager les activités locales : Réunion des coordinateurs européens de groupes de Fellows == Par exemple, nos groupes locaux de Fellowship. Au cours du dernier mois nos groupes ont organisé une conférence à Aarhus[4], ont continué les rencontres à Francfort[5]. À Munich un stand s'est tenu pendant un festival de rue[6], pour l'événement Software Freedom Day nos Fellows ont informé les passants sur le Logiciel Libre à Vienne[7] et à Offenburg[8], tandis qu'à Helsinki[9] ils ont aidé à l'installation de Logiciels Libres. Notre groupe de Fellowship de Düsseldorf était très actif également ces dernières semaines : ils ont tenu un stand à la manifestation estivale du Parti Pirate[10], participé à la manifestation estivale du Green Party[11], créé un événement Software Freedom Day[12], soutenu une Cryptoparty à Kempen[13] tout en tenant leur rencontre habituelle[14] et en accueillant une conférence de Sam Tuke sur Free Your Android[15]. Du 27 au 29 Septembre, 22 Fellows de la FSFE de 10 pays se sont réunis à Berlin pour la 1ère Rencontre des coordinateurs européens. Durant le week-end les coordinateurs ont pu faire connaissance, présenter leur travail, parler des possibilités de promouvoir le Logiciel Libre, partager les bonnes pratiques, et fournir un retour d'expérience de grande valeur sur nos campagnes. Si vous voulez découvrir ceux qui promeuvent le Logiciel Libre au sein des groupes Fellowship locaux lisez le billet de Lucile[16]. == Par ailleurs... == - La technologie devrait être un moyen de liberté et de créativité. Mais, aujourd'hui, les gouvernements de part le monde transforment les ordinateurs et les réseaux en outils d'oppression. La FSFE a rejoint une coalition de plus de 256 organisations[17] qui a initié une liste appelée "13 International Principles on the Application of Human Rights to Communication Surveillance" (13 Principes Internationaux pour le Respect des Droits de l'Homme appliqués à la Surveillance des Communications). - Interrogez vos candidats : Notre groupe australien a publié leur questions-réponses pour une élection au niveau fédéral (Nationalratswahl)[18], les allemands ont publié leurs réponses à des questions similaires pour l'élection d'état à Hessen[19]. - Suite à la prise de position de la FSFE contre la coalition Fairsearch[20], KDE a également rejeté ce groupe de pression, et a expliqué pourquoi le Logiciel Libre est compétitif[21]. - Une nouvelle édition de la lettre d'information sur le Logiciel Libre dans l'éducation d'août[22] vient de sortir, incluant ce que L'Open Education Resources (OER) peut apprendre du Logiciel Libre. - Avec Mirko Vogt de l'OpenWrt, la FSFE a rédigé un courrier à l'agence fédérale des réseaux allemande[23] (German). Nous y soutenons l'importance pour l'utilisateur d'être libre de choisir le routeur qu'il veut pour son accès internet. - Le CERN, qui publie de nombreuses documentations de conception de matériel informatique, a mis à jour sa licence Open Hardware License en publiant la version 1.2[24]. - Pour fêter le 30ème anniversaire de GNU, la FSF a suggéré des actions pour la liberté logicielle[25] pour chaque jour de septembre. Bien sûr vous pourrez les refaire à n'importe quel moment. - Administration publique : la gendarmerie française dispose maintenant de 37 000 postes GNU/Linux[26] et après la migration prévue l'été prochain, ce nombre sera porté à 72,000. Les officiels ont déclarés que ce changement permet de diminuer les coûts opérationnels de 40% par rapport à une solution propriétaire. Cependant la réalisation d'économie n'est qu'un des points, l'autre étant d'obtenir plus d'indépendance vis-à-vis des éditeurs de logiciels. - En direct depuis la planète[27]: - Hugo Roy demande des retours sur le Manifesto sur les Données des Utilisateurs (User Data Manifesto)[28]. - Georg Greve soutient que les avocats du Logiciel Libre avaient raison depuis le début : On ne peut pas avoir confiance dans la cryptographie propriétaire ou dans les logiciels propriétaires[29]. - Mirko Böhm et Paul Adams ont organisé un séminaire à propos du Logiciel Libre dans l'économie et la société au sein de l'union allemande des étudiants protestants[30] (German), où Karsten Gerloff a donné une conférence devant les étudiants en médecine, en biologie et en théologie. - Lucile a appris à apprécier les expressions régulières[31], et a souligné quelques citations de Bruce Schneier[32], incluant "Le risque nous effraie. Il est inhérent à la vie, mais nous sommes devenus de plus en plus réticents à l'accepter, et à tous les niveaux". - Thomas Løcke se demande si nous souhaitons vivre dans une société où les agences de l'ombre sont devenues folles[33] et où l'argent durement gagné de nos impôts est utilisé pour financer les laisses pour nos cous et les fouets pour nos dos ? - Notre coordinateur Fellowship de Munich, Christian Kalkhoff, explique pourquoi il a finalement quitté facebook[34] (Allemand) aprés qu'ils aient changé leurs conditions d'utilisation. - Coté technique : si vous devez avoir un dual-boot GNU/Linux et Windows 8 sur une machine ayant un restricted boot[35], lisez l'article de nos Fellow Finnois[36]. - Si vous utilisez GnuCash ou HomeBank pour vos finances, Daniel Pocok vous suggère de jeter un oeil à PostBooks[37], et de peut-être soutenir leur campagne de financement participatif pour y ajouter des fonctionnalités manquantes. - Il s'est aussi intéressé aux agendas et à la gestion des données de contact par Logiciel Libre[38] sur Smartphone. - Paul Boddie a écrit à propos du Neo900[39], le successeur du célébre téléphone portable N900. - Guido Günther surveille les températures[40] par Logiciel Libre, et - Henri Bergius fait voler un quadricoptère avec NoFlo[41]. - Après de nombreuses années, l'ordinateur portable de Matija a cassé. Lisez comment il a changé de distribution[42] et la sensation fabuleuse d'avoir des sauvegardes qui fonctionnent. - Enfin, il se demande si le copyright, les brevets et les monopoles d'État de manière générale sont naturels[43]. == Soyez actifs: Parlez à vos amis de comment tout a commencé! == Comme vous avez pu le lire dans le premier paragraphe cela fait 30 ans que Richard Stallman a annoncé les débuts du système d'exploitation GNU[44]. Beaucoup pensent, par erreur, à ce 30ème anniversaire[45] uniquement comme à un succès technique mais c'est bien plus que cela : GNU et la philosophie qui lui est sous-jacente est également une révolution sociale. Davantage de gens devraient connaître l'importance et le côté unique des développements que GNU a lancés. Par conséquent, nous vous demandons de parler avec vos amis, vos connaissances et collègues de l'histoire[46] et de la philosophie[47] du projet GNU et de réfléchir à quels effets de bord positifs de l'invention de GNU vous appréciez le plus.
