This software indeed seems to match against our first criterion for being in the list: to be Free Software.

However, FBReader does not seem to support pdf reading
http://www.fbreader.org/docs/formats.php
which thus makes little sense to include it in the list.
But if support is added at some point, it would be very interesting to check out what library/software they use for this, and possibly reference it.
