I've at last taken time to gather information on the current status of our proposals to pdf software developers to help them with translations (software interface as well as download pages). I would now like to publish this information (basically, how to contribute and who to contact) somewhere. I was thinking of a separate page on pdfreaders.org, with a link to it called "contribute" or "help us improve free software quality". I would then write to our translators@ and propose to people to give a hand on these translations, referring to said page, so that they can start easily.
I would also be fine to just start this on our FSFE Fellowship wiki. I think it is not necessary to translate it in so many languages and it is good if people participating can change content.
I agree that it would be more easy to maintain on the wiki, but I also think it wouldn't get very much awareness. So far as I have understood this page, its aim is to show what translations are available, and this is an interesting idea to have alongside the page with which reader you can download I think... We could perhaps reconcile the two ideas with a link to the wiki from the pdfreaders.org index page ?
