= PDFReaders tasks = There are some manual tasks that need to be done regularly, mainly add the petition signatures to our list[1], and subscribe people willing to our newsletter. 1. http://fsfe.org/campaigns/pdfreaders/petition.html == Petition signatures == Signatures to the PDFReaders petition come in via the our mailing list: pdfreaders@lists.fsfe.org To help you deal with these mails coming in, we have written a little script that extracts relevant information and creates handy files. To use it, extract PDFReaders-script.zip to anywhere (once), and for each batch of emails, follow this procedure: 1. export the new emails named "[PDFReaders] petition signature" to _text files_*, save the files in the PDFReaders-script/data-pdfreaders-mails folder 2. execute (double click) script.py 3. in the "res" folder that the script created, you will find following files: 3a. PDFReaders-script/res/petition.txt This file gives you a list of prepared signatories names. You need to add these lines to the /campaigns/pdfreaders/petition-sig.en.xml file in the fsfe-web svn repository (in the corresponding section, that is between for individuals). The names order within petition-sig.en.xml is not important. 3b. PDFReaders-script/res/nl/nl.**.xml These files contain lists of email addresses of persons who wish to subscribe our newsletter. ** is the language, xx being unknown (thus English). You need to add these addresses to the corresponding newsletter-** mailing lists, visit https://mail.fsfeurope.org/mailman/admin/newsletter-**/members/add to this end. * In Thunderbird, this is best done with the "ImportExportTools" addon http://nic-nac-project.de/~kaosmos/mboximport-en.html and then right-clicking on a selection of mails: "Save selected messages", "TXT Format"
