Hello everybody !
As you may have seen from yesterday's press release about the campaign [1], we are now entering the phase of contacting the institutions. With this mail, I try to summarize here what we still have to do, how we will do that, and what is the schedule we want to follow.
== Getting media awareness ==
I will try to contact today the online newspaper which wrote about the first phase to inform them about the current state of the campaign to get again awarenesse bout our action there. Sam is writing an entry on fsdaily for the same purpose.
== Contacting the institutions ==
*Until the end of this week we shall have:*
- contacted all the people that we (Matthias and I) have identified as being possible good helps for sending the letters in minimizing the post costs (i.e. sending directly from the home country).
- went thourgh the reports to definitely remove all double entries
- went through the reports to determine the winners
- determined the prize for the winners So far I suggest : _for the individuals_ : free entry to FSCONS,a hooded and a pin. _for the group_ : it will depend how many people they are (I would suggest T shirts for the participants in the group and a pin, or a pen or a keyring.
- prepared the press release to announce the winners and start fundraising activities (see underneath). we want the press release out for about *wednesday 27th*.
- I will also contact Penny to see how we can best generate the letters.
*Until the end of next week - 29th October*
At that date, we want to know who is going to sent which letter when. We already know for sure for Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, and a part of Italy.
*Fundraising*
All in all, we will be sending about 2280 letters. With German tariffs, this amounts to about 1.250 EUR. So we think to :
- add a button to the campaign page to link to our Paypal page - write to the mailing lists to launch an action like "stamps against ads" - integrate the issue in the press release announcing the winners. - announce it on identi.ca, fsdaily...
Ideas are welcome on this point to see how to best organize the fundraising around the campaign.
Good news is, that according to the original schedule of the campaign, we are exactly on time !
