(Going to pdfreaders@, so they can also evaluate)

A green background indicates that the reader is recommended for you. The recommendations are based on ease of use and install and do not reflect the technical merits of the software itself.
"Ease of use and install" sind "technical merits" der Software, insofern verstehe ich den Satz eh nicht wirklich ganz.
What about:
A green background indicates that the reader is recommended for you. The recommendations are based on ease of use and install.
(It is just a subjective suggestion from the pdfreaders team.)
Wir müssen unsere Kriterien eigentlich offen legen, vielleicht geht das besser mit einem Link und keiner Erklärung auf der Hauptseite.
If we do not explain it on the front page, then the people do not understand why something is green.
Die verlinkte Siete sollte genau und nachvollziehbar erklären, warum wir, was aufgenommen haben und ebenso für Grün.
We list all Free Software PDFreaders, and we highlight those which we think are easy to use and install.

They do not need to directly understand it, it just looks nice. You could write as little as: "Why are some entries green?" and link it to a page.
We list all Free Software PDFreaders, and we highlight those which we think are easy to use and install.
Both: Based on what criteria? Heresay? A test on our own? Feedback?
What can I do if I want to give additional information for this evaluation?
