] == Unsere Bewegung wird 30! == Am 27. September 1983 hat Richard Stallman das GNU-Projekt angekündigt[1]. Eine Initiative, welche ihren Ursprung in der Frustration eines Programmierers wegen eines defekten Druckertreibers fand[2], hat unsere Gesellschaft verändert. Die Idee von Software, die jeder benutzen, untersuchen, teilen und verbessern kann[3], hat sich als durchschlagskräftig erwiesen. Das GNU-Projekt war der Startpunkt einer Bewegung, die sicherstellt, dass wir Technologie kontrollieren können und nicht, dass diese uns kontrolliert. Heutzutage ist Freie Software überall: Sie ist Grundlage für das Internet, unsere Mobiltelefone, Fernsehgeräte, Autos, Router und elektronische Geräte jeder Art. Freie Software hat die Art und Weise, wie Menschen Software erstellen, fundamental verändert: Anstatt Leute davon abzuhalten, die Software ihren Bedürfnissen anzupassen, laden sie andere Menschen dazu ein, sich an der Entwicklung zu beteiligen. Die FSFE ist Richard Stallman sehr dankbar für den zündenden Gedanken dieser epochalen Verändern und auch jedem, der sich unserer Bewegung angeschlossen hat, Freie Software über drei Dekaden weiterzuentwickeln. == Lokale Aktivitäten fördern: Europäisches Treffen der Fellowship- Koordinatoren == Beispielsweise unsere lokalen Fellowship-Gruppen. Während des letzten Monats haben unseren Gruppen in Aarhus einen Vortrag gehalten[4] und die Treffen in Frankfurt[5] werden fortgesetzt. In München hatten wir einen öffentlichen Stand während eines Straßenfestivals[6], während des Software Freedom Days haben unsere Fellows Fußgänger in Wien[7] über Freie Software informiert und in Offenburg[8] als auch in Helsinki[9] haben sie anderen geholfen, Freie Software zu installieren. Auch unsere Düsseldorfer Fellowship-Gruppe war in den letzten Wochen sehr aktiv: Sie hatten einen Stand beim Sommerfest der Piratenpartei[10] und nahmen am Sommerfest der Grünen[11] teil, haben ein Software Freedom Day Event[12] veranstaltet, eine Cryptoparty in Kempen[13] unterstützt, ein reguläres Treffen[14] abgehalten und auch einen a Vortrag von Sam Tuke über Free Your Android[15] organisiert. Vom 27. bis 29. September haben sich 22 Fellows der FSFE aus zehn Ländern in Berlin beim ersten Europäischen Koordinatorentreffen versammelt. Während des Wochenendes haben sich die Koordinatoren gegenseitig kennen gelernt, ihre Arbeit vorgestellt, über Möglichkeiten zur Förderung Freier Software gesprochen, bewährte Praktiken ausgetauscht und wertvolle Rückmeldungen über unsere Kampagnen gegeben. Wenn Sie interessiert daran sind zu erfahren, wer Freie Software in unseren lokalen Fellowship-Gruppen fördert, kann einen Blick auf Luciles Blogeintrag werfen[16]. == Etwas völlig anderes == - Technologie sollte ein Instrument für Freiheit und Kreativität sein. Dennoch missbrauchen Regierungen rund um den Globus Computer und Netzwerke als Werkzeuge für Unterdrückung. Die FSFE ist einer Koalition aus mehr 265 Organisationen beigetreten, welche eine Liste mit 13 Internationalen Prinzipien für die Anwendung von Menschenrechten bei Kommunikationsüberwachung[17] ins Leben gerufen hat. - Fragen Sie Ihre Kandidaten: Unser Österreichisches Team hat seine Fragen und Antworten für die Nationalratswahl veröffentlicht[18] und das Deutsche die Antworten für ähnliche Fragen bei der Landtagswahl in Hessen.[19]. - Nachdem die FSFE schon dagegen Einspruch erhoben hat[20] hat KDE ebenso den Anschuldigungen der Fairsearch-Initiative widersprochen und erklärt, warum Freie Software wettbewerbsfördernd ist[21]. - Es gibt eine neue Ausgabe der Neuigkeiten über Freie Software im Bildungssektor für August[22], die unter anderem aufzeigt, was Freie Lehrinhalte von Freier Software lernen können. - Zusammen mit Mirko Vogt von OpenWrt hat die FSFE einen Brief an die Bundesnetzagentur geschrieben[23]. Wir haben die Wichtigkeit erörtert, die Freiheit zu haben, jeden Router für den Internetzugang nutzen zu können. - CERN, welches viele Hardwaredesigndokumentationen veröffentlicht, hat seine Open Hardware-Lizenz auf Version 1.2 erweitert[24]. - Um GNUs 30. Geburtstag zu feiern, hat die FSF Softwarefreiheit- Maßnahmen[25] für jeden Tag im September vorgeschlagen. Natürlich können Sie diese jederzeit wiederholen. - Öffentliche Verwaltung: Die Französische Gendarmerie betreut nun 37.000 GNU/Linux-Desktopsysteme[26] und nach dem geplanten Wechsel im nächsten Sommer werden es 72.000 sein. Offiziellen Stellen zufolge wird daovn gesprochen, dass die gesamten Unterhaltungskosten dadurch 40% geringer sein werden als vergleichbare proprietäre Lösungen. Aber die Kostenersparnisse sind nur ein Punkt, ein anderer ist die höhere Vertriebsunabhängigkeit. - Vom FSFE Planet, der Sammlung von Blogeinträgen zur FSFE[27]: - Hugo Roy erbittet Feedback für die öffenliche Erklärung zu Nutzerdaten[28]. - Georg Greve erklärt, dass Verteidiger Freier Software Recht hatten: Man kann proprietärer Kryptographie oder proprietärer Software nicht vertrauen[29]. - Mirko Böhm und Paul Adams organisierten ein ein Seminar über Freie Software in Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft beim Deutschen Evangelischen Studienwerk[30], bei dem Karsten Gerloff auch einen Vortrag als Gastredner vor Medizin-, Naturwissenschafts- oder Theologiestudenten hielt. - Lucile hat sich mit Regulären Ausdrücken angefreundet[31] und einige Zitate von Bruce Schneier herausgehoben[32], einschließlich "Wir haben Angst vor Risiko. Es ist ein normaler Bestandteil des Lebens, aber wir sind mit steigender Tendenz davon abgeneigt, es in irgendeiner Art zu akzeptieren. - Thomas Løcke stellt sich die Frage, ob wir in einer Welt leben möchten, in der Schattenagenturen Amok laufen[33] und wo unsere hart erarbeiteten Steuern benutzt werden, um Riemen für unsere Hälse und Peitschen für unsere Rücken zu finanzieren? - Unser Münchner Fellowship-Koordinator Christian Kalkhoff erklärt, warum er endgültig Facebook verlassen hat[34], nachdem dort die Allgemeinen Leistungsbedingungen geändert wurden. - Technisches: Wenn Sie auf einem Rechner mit Restricted Boot[35] einen Dualboot mit GNU/Linux und Windows 8 benötigen, lesen Sie die Beschreibung unseres Finnishen Fellows[36]. - Wenn Sie zuvor GnuCash oer HomeBank für Ihre Finanzen benutzt haben, empfiehlt Ihnen Daniel Pocok einen Blick auf PostBooks zu werfen[37] und möglicherweise Ihre Crowdfunding-Kampagne für fehlende Funktionen zu unterstützen. - Er warf auch einen Blick auf Kalender und Kontaktdaten mit Freier Software[38] in der Smartphone-Ära. - Paul Boddie schrieb über das Neo900[39], den Nachfolger des berühmten N900-Handys. - Guido Günther überwacht eine Heizanlage[40], die mit Freier Software läuft und - Henri Bergius flog einen Quadrocopter mit NoFlo[41]. - Nach vielen Jahren ging Matijas Laptop kaputt. Lesen Sie, wie er seine Distribution nach über eine Dekade gewechselt hat[42] und über das gute Gefühl, funktionierende Arbeitsbackups zu haben. - Schlussendlich erörtert er, ob Urheberrecht, Patente und staatsgegebene Monopole allgemein natürlich sind[43]. == Werden Sie aktiv: Sprechen Sie mit einigen Freunden darüber, wie alles angefangen hat! == Wie Sie im ersten Absatz lesen konnten, ist es über 30 Jahre her, seit Richard Stallman angekündigt hat, mit dem GNU-Betriebssystem zu beginnen[44]. Viele Leute denken fälschlicherweise, dass dieser 30. Geburtstag[45] nur ein Erfolg in technischer Hinsicht war, doch es ist viel mehr: GNU und die Philosophie dahinter sind auch eine soziale Revolution. Mehr Leute sollten über die Wichtigkeit und Einzigartigkeit der Entwicklung Bescheid wissen, die GNU angestoßen hat. Also bitten wir Sie darum, mit Ihren Freunden, Bekannten und Kollegen über die Geschichte[46] und Philosophie[47] des GNU-Projekts zu reden und sich Gedanken darüber zu machen, welche positiven Nebeneffekte der Erfindung von GNU Sie persönlich am meisten schätzen.
