Die Free Software Foundation Europe (FSFE)[1] feiert den Document Freedom Day 2011[2] und lädt Einzelpersonen, Projektgruppen und Insitutionen dazu ein, mit ihnen am 30. März den Document Freedom Day (DFD) zu begehen. Der DFD ist ein globales Ereignis, an dem Offener Standards und offenen Dokumentformaten, sowie deren Bedeutung gedacht wird. Offene Standards stellen sicher, dass Sie eine Zugangsmöglichkeit zu Ihren Daten haben und ermöglichen es, Freie Software zu programmieren, um Dateien in bestimmten Formaten lesen und schreiben zu können. 1. http://fsfe.org 2. http://documentfreedom.org
Sie können an diesem Tag teilhaben, indem sie eine Veranstaltung in ihrer Stadt organisieren. Sie können auf vielen Wegen dazu beitragen, die Aufmerksamkeit gegenüber Offenen Standards zu erhöhen: Flyer verteilen, Vorträge organisieren, einen Banner zu ihrem Blog hinzufügen oder Geld spenden.
Wir wünschen uns, dass mindestens 25 Städte am Document Freedom Day 2011 teilnehmen. Helfen Sie uns, dieses Ereignis zu einem globalen Erfolg zu machen!

== Warum den Document Freedom Day? ==
Ein immer größerer Teil unserer Kommunikation findet in der digitalen Welt statt. In der digitalen Gesellschaft ermöglichen uns Offene Standards und offene Dokumentformate die Freiheit, lesen und schreiben zu können. Diese ist von entscheidender Bedeutung beim Austausch von Information, ermöglicht Unabhängigkeit von Software-Herstellern und macht unsere Daten für lange zeit zugänglich. Offene Standards stellen ebenfalls sicher, dass wir miteinander kommunizieren können und funktionieren mit Freier Software.
== Was sind Offene Standards? ==
Offene Standards sind eine gemeinsame Sprache, die alle Computer sprechen können. Sie ermöglichen es den Entwicklern, Freie-Software-Programme zu schreiben, die mit anderen Anwendungen kompatibel sind und es dem Nutzer erlauben, zu Freien-Software-Programmen zu migrieren, ohne den Zugang zu seinen Daten zu verlieren.
== Was ist Ziel dieser Kampagne? ==
Die Kampagne richtet sich an ein nicht-technisches Publikum, dem sie Offene Standards und Dokumentformaten erläutern will. Offene Standards sind eine Grundvoraussetzung für Freiheit und Wahlmöglichkeit im Bezug auf Software. Der Document Freedom Day macht auf Offene Standards aufmerksam und ermöglicht es jedem, an einer besseren Informationsgesellschaft teilzuhaben. Die Teilnahme am Document Freedom Day ist einfach und macht Spaß, egal ob Gruppe oder Einzelperson. Der Document Freedom Day wird von der Free Software Foundation Europe koordiniert.
