Am 14. Februar bittet die Free Software Foundation Europe alle Nutzer Freier Software, ihre Anerkennung für Freie Software zu zeigen. Die FSFE schlägt vor, diesen Tag als eine Gelegenheit wahrzunehmen, um den engagierten und hart arbeitenden Menschen in der Freie Software Gemeinschaft „Danke“ zu sagen.
„Jeden Tag nutzen wir Freie Software und nehmen das oft als selbstverständlich wahr. Wir schreiben Fehlermeldungen, sagen anderen, wie sie ihre Software verbessern können, oder bitten sie um neue Funktionen – wobei wir uns mit Kritik nicht zurückhalten. Um den Menschen, die in der Freien Software Gemeinschaft tätig sind, auf jeden Fall einmal im Jahr ein positives Feedback zu geben, gibt es den ‚I love Free Software Day‘”, sagt Matthias Kirschner, der die#ilovefs Kampagne[1]der FSFE ins Leben rief.
Die FSFE hat für den„I love Free Software Day“[2]einige Vorschläge, wie man seine Liebe den Menschen hinter Freier Software zeigen kann. Dazu gehören:
- Schreibe Sie eine Email, einen Brief oder einen (Mikro-)Blog-Eintrag an/über die Entwickler und sage Sie ihnen, wie sehr Sie ihre Arbeit schätzen. - Geben Sie Ihrem Lieblings-Entwickler einen aus. Oder spendieren Sie jemandem ein Getränk und erzähle ihm/ihr von Ihrem Freien Lieblings- Programm! - Umarmen Sie einen Entwickler (es wird empfohlen, vorab um Erlaubnis zu bitten). - Machen Sie ein Foto von Ihnen auf dem Sie Ihre Gefühle für Freie Software zeigen und stellen Sie es online. - Spende Sie der FSFE[3]oder eine andere Freie Software Initiative[4], um Ihre Dankbarkeit zu zeigen. Sie sind auf Spenden für ihre Arbeit angewiesen. Also suchen Sie sich Ihre Lieblingsorganisation aus und spenden Sie. Sie können sich sicher sein, dass sie Ihre Liebe erwidern. - Schließlich können Sie dabei helfen, die Liebe zu verbreiten, indem Sie die Banner der Kampagne[5]über Email, (Mikro-)Blog, oder soziale Netzwerke verbreiten. Bitte verwenden Sie dafür den Hashtag #ilovefs.
