1. Die FSFE und Digicomp kündigen Kurs zur Lizensierung Freier Software an
Die Schweizer Trainingsakademie Digicomp bietet nun einen Lizensierungskurs für Freie Software unter der Leitung von Shane Coughlan, Koordinator der Freedom Task Force der FSFE, an. Der Kurs richtet sich an Projektmanager, Entwickler und Techniker, die ihr Wissen hinsichtlich der Möglichkeiten, Quellcode weiterzugeben, erweitern wollen. Ferner gibt der Kurs auch Preisbeispiele, wie Freie Software in Geschäftsmodelle integriert werden kann. Die Kurse werden erstmalig am 25. und 26. Juni abgehalten werden, weitere Kurse werden am 10. und 11. September und am 10. und 11. Dezember 2007 angeboten. Weitere Informationen sind hier verfügbar:

2. LibreMeeting 2007 in Miraflores, Spanien
Die Free Knowledge Foundation, die assoziierte Organisation der FSFE in Spanien, hat das LibreMeeting 2007 organisiert. Es war das erste internationale Treffen über freies Wissen in Madrid. Georg Greve stellte die FSFE vor, und Ciarán O'Riordan sprach über die GPLv3.
3. Die FSFE bei der eLiberatica 2007 in Rumänien
Die rumänische Freie-Software-Gemeinschaft wählte das rumänische Brasov, direkt im Herzen Transsylvaniens, als Tagungsort für ihre eLiberatica- Konferenz 2007. Ihr Ziel war es, Wissen weiterzugeben und ein Bewusstsein für Freie Software in Rumänien aufzubauen. Der FSFE- Präsident Georg Greve hielt eine der Hauptreden über Offene Standards und Wettbewerbsfreiheit und nahm ebenso an einer Podiumsdiskussion über die Zukunft der Wissensregulierung teil.
4. Richard Stallman in Schweden
Am 16. Mai 2007 hielt Richard Stallman eine Rede in Göteborg (Schweden). Die Rede mit dem Titel: "Freie Software und darüber hinaus: Menschenrechte in der Anwendung von Software und anderen veröffentlichten Werken" kann hier heruntergeladen werden (audio):

Am 17. Mai hielt Richard Stallman eine Rede in Linköping (Schweden). Die Rede trägt den Titel: "Copyright gegen Community im Zeitalter der Computernetzwerke" und kann hier heruntergeladen werden:

5. ConfSL, LUGConf und Fellowship-Treffen in Cosenza, Italien
Die italienische Freie-Software-Gemeinschaft traf sich in Consenza zu drei gleichzeitig stattfindenden Veranstaltungen: der ConfSL2007, der LUGConf und einem Fellowship-Treffen. Alles in Allem genoss jeder drei Tage voller Gespräche, Workshops und richtig viel Spass. Stefano Maffulli und Shane Coughlan vertraten die FSFE, und der Fellow Marco De Rossi repräsentierte die kürzlich gegründete Milan Advocacy Group während der LUGConf.

6. Linuxtag in Berlin
Wie in den Jahren zuvor auch war die FSFE mit einem Messestand am Linuxtag in Berlin präsent. Mitarbeiter der FSFE und Freiwillige informierten über Freie Software und beantworteten viele Fragen.
7. Linuxwochen-Tour durch Österreich
"Linuxwochen" ist der Name für eine Reihe von Veranstaltungen, die jedes jahr um den Mai in Österreich stattfinden. In diesem Jahr war die FSFE in Eisenstadt, Graz und Wien vor Ort.
8. Spenden jetzt in der Schweiz steuerlich absetzbar
Die FSFE freut sich, bekannt geben zu können, dass Spenden jetzt in der Schweiz steuerlich absetzbar sind, nachdem die FSFE von der Behörde des Kantons Zürich als gemeinnützige Organisation in öffentlichem Interesse anerkannt wurde.
