Hintergrundinformation der Free Software Foundation Europe
"FSF Europe präsentierte Freie Software auf OECD Workshop in Tokio auf Einladung des deutschen Ministeriums für Wirtschaft und Technologie"
(Tokio, Japan) 12.-13. September 2001, die FSF Europe präsentierte die Vorteile Freier Software im Bezug auf "Informationssicherheit in einer vernetzten Welt" auf einer OECD Konferenz. Bernhard Reiter, Deutscher Kanzler der FSF Europe, repräsentierte die FSF Europe und andere deutsche Verbände Freier Software auf Einladung des deutschen Ministeriums für Wirtschaft und Technologie (BMWi).
Der 15 minütige Vortrag mit dem Titel "Freie Software als ein Standard und eine Basis für sichere Informationstechnologie" fand am Donnerstag Morgen im Rahmen des Programms "Rollen technischer Standards" statt. Er stellte die vier grundlegenden Freiheiten von Software vor, die sie zu Freier Software machen, betonte die Wichtigkeit Freier Software für das Internet und schloß mit Beispielen zu Lösungen Freier Software wie dem GNU Privacy Guard (GPG).
"Diese erfolgreiche Zusammenarbeit zwischen der FSF Europe und dem BMWi zeigt, daß die Freie Software Szene wahrgenommen wird." sagt Georg Greve, Präsident der FSF Europe, "Freie Software ist ein globales Phänomen von internationaler Bedeutung, es muß als solches behandelt werden. Wir werden die internationale Kooperation und Vernetzung weiter verstärken."
