= Innenministers übernimmt FSFEs Forderung nach Offenen Standards =
Der deutsche Innenminister hat in einer Grundsatzrede den Einsatz Offener Standards [1] für staatliche IT-Systeme und Internet-Angebote gefordert. Damit übernimmt Lothar de Maiziere eine Forderung, die die Free Software Foundation Europe schon seit langem erhebt.
In seinen gestern vorgestellten Thesen zur Netzpolitik [2] verlangt der Innenminister, dass solche Angebote plattformunabhängig nutzbar sein müssen, also auch mit Freier Software.
Die Free Software Foundation Europe begrüßt diese Forderung. "Der Staat muss nicht nur seine eigene Souveränität schützen, sondern auch die Freiheit seiner Bürger. Das geht nur mit Freier Software und Offenen Standards", sagt Karsten Gerloff, Präsident der FSFE. "Die Regierung darf nicht festlegen, mit welcher Software Bürger mit ihr kommunizieren können - ebenso wenig, wie sie uns vorschreiben darf, eine bestimmte Automarke zu kaufen."
"Der Innenministers muss seinen deutlichen Worte nun auch im IT-Planungsrat Taten folgen lassen", fordert Matthias Kirschner, Deutschland-Koordinator der FSFE. "Sogenannte Marktstandards, wie man sie auch immer definiert, sind kein Ersatz für Offene Standards."
FSFE fordert die deutsche Regierung auf, die Interessen ihrer Bürger auch in Europa durchzusetzen. Dort sind Offene Standards zur Zeit akut bedroht durch die Überarbeitung des Europäischen Rahmenwerkes zur Interoperabilität (EIF). [3]
"Wenn es um die Umsetzung Offener Standards geht, kann der Innenminister weiter auf unseren Rat und unsere Unterstützung zählen", so Gerloff weiter. Doch das gilt nicht für alle gestern vorgestellten Thesen: "FSFE steht für die Freiheit in der Informationsgesellschaft, und wir werden weiter alles bekämpfen, was dieser Freiheit schadet."
