1. Herzlichen Glückwunsch zum Geburtstag, FSFE
Am 10. März 2001 nahm die Free Software Foundation Europe ihre Arbeit auf. Während dieser fünf Jahre wurde eine umfangreiche und erfolgreiche Arbeit geleistet. Die FSFE entwickelte sich nicht nur zu Europas führendem Vertreter Freier Software auf nationaler und europäischer Ebene sowie bei den Vereinten Nationen (UNO), sondern sie schaffte es auch, in Gestalt des Fellowships eine große virtuelle Gemeinschaft für die Freiheit im digitalen Zeitalter aufzubauen.

2. Pablo Machón und Xavier Reina treten dem FSFE-Kernteam bei
Die Free Software Foundation Europe vergrößert kontinuierlich ihre Kapazitäten und ihren Aktionsradius: Pablo Machón und Xavier Reina traten dem FSFE-Kernteam bei. Beide leisten bereits seit vielen Jahren wertvolle Arbeit, und sie haben es sich zum Ziel gesetzt, die Aktivitäten der FSFE in Spanien auszubauen.
3. GPLv3-Konferenz in Turin
Die FSFE veranstaltete eine Konferenz in Turin, auf der Richard Stallman über die Zukunft Freier Software und die Änderungen in der kommenden Version 3 der GNU General Public License sprach. Die Veranstaltung wurde gut aufgenommen und war ein regelrechter Publikumserfolg, nicht zuletzt Dank der Zusammenarbeit mit dem Politecnico di Torino, NetStudent and Hipatia. 4. GNUvox, die Stimme der Freien Software in Italien
Das italienische Team der Free Software Foundation hat ein Projekt gestartet, um in Italien den Dialog über Freie Software zu stärken und über Freie Software besser zu informieren. Das Ziel ist es, die Botschaft "Freie Software, Freie Gesellschaft" auch jenseits der Freien-Software-Gemeinschaft zu verbreiten. Den ersten Teil dieses Projekts bildet der Blog GNUvox.info, eine tägliche Nachrichtenquelle über Freie Software in Italien.
5. Offizielle Erklärung der FSFE zum Patentwesen in Europa
Ciaran O'Riordan entwarf die Antwort der FSFE auf den Fragenkatalog der Europäischen Kommission "Zum Patentwesen in Europa", welche nun übergeben wurde und online verfügbar ist:

Der Stichtag zum Einreichen von Antworten wurde auf den 12. April verschoben, daher ermutigt die FSFE alle Unterstützer Freier Software teilzunehmen - möglichst auf der Grundlage der Antwort der FSFE.
6. Das Fellowship war auf der LUGConference 2006 vertreten
In Italien organisierte die LUGRoma eine der besten Veranstaltungen der letzten Jahre, die von der Gemeinschaft getragen wurden. Das Fellowship war offiziell durch Stefano Maffulli vertreten. Jedoch waren auch viele andere Fellows auf der Konferenz, manche von ihnen als Mitglieder von LUGs. Die Konferenz ermöglichte es, vielen Leuten aus der Gemeinschaft zu begegnen und sich Vorschläge und Kritiken anzuhören. Es gab die Möglichkeit, über den Vorschlag des österreichischen Fellows Stephan Peijnik (sp) zu diskutieren, ein internationales Treffen der Fellows zu organisieren und Freiwillige für die Organisation der Veranstaltung zu suchen. 7. Karsten Gerloff auf der TACD-Konferenz
Karsten Gerloff vertrat die FSFE in Brüssel auf einer Konferenz über "Die Politik und Ideologie 'geistigen Eigentums'". Die Veranstaltung wurde vom TACD (Trans-Atlantic Consumer Dialogue - Transatlantischer Verbraucherdialog), einem Zusammenschluss von 65 Verbraucherschutz- organisationen aus der EU und den Vereinigten Staaten, ausgerichtet. Zwei Tage lang diskutierten Forscher und Aktivisten den intellektuellen Hintergrund von Urheberrechten und Patenten. Karsten knüpfte neue Kontakte und pflegte die Beziehungen der FSF Europe zu anderen Nichtregierungsorganisationen, die sich parallel zu FSF Europe um freien Wissenszugang bemühen.
