= DFD -- Dradio: "mehr geehrt als durch einen Grimme-Preis" =
Berlin, 31. März, 19:00 Uhr. "Wir fühlen uns durch diesen Preis mehr geehrt als durch einen Grimme-Preis", meinte Egbert Meyer, Geschäftsführer des Online-Angebots von Deutschlandradio beim Anschneiden der DFD-Torte mit dem Schriftzug "rOGG on!".
Die FSFE und der FFII überreichten heute den Document-Freedom-Day-Preis 2010 für die Nutzung und Förderung Offener Standards in der Gesellschaft an das Deutschlandradio.
Matthias Kirschner, Deutschlandkoordinator der FSFE, zeigt sich erfreut über das Engagement des Deutschlandradios: "Seit 2006 kann jeder die Ogg-Vorbis Live-Streams des Deutschlandradios ohne Probleme mit Freier Software empfangen. Damit nehmen sie eine Vorreiterrolle bei der Nutzung Offener Standards im öffentlich-rechtlichen Rundfunk ein."
"Der Document-Freedom-Day-Preis 2010 soll sie dafür ehren, dass sie es richtig machen. Mit nicht-patentbehafteten Audio-Formaten ermöglichen sie ihren Hörern eine freiere Auswahl an Abspielgeräten und Software.", so Stephan Uhlmann, Vorstand des FFII.

Der Document Freedom Day (DFD) ist ein weltweiter Aktionstag für Freie Dokumtenformate und Offene Standards. Er findet seit 2008 jährlich am letzten Mittwoch im März statt. In den vergangenen Jahren haben über 200 Teams von Freiwilligen in über 60 Ländern anderen Menschen den Wert von Offenen Dokumentenformaten und Offenen Standards vermittelt.
