1. FSFE empfiehlt Rechtsanwälte, die Erfahrung mit Freier Software haben
Die FSFE hat damit begonnen, eine Liste mit Rechtsanwälten zusammenzustellen, die im Bereich Freier Software erfahren und sachkundig sind. Mit der Arbeit im Rahmen der Freedom Task Force kann die FSFE auf erfolgreiche Kooperationen mit professionellen Rechtsanwälten zurückblicken. Die neue Liste mit den Empfehlungen wird es auch Außenstehenden ermöglichen, von diesen positiven Erfahrungen zu profitieren.

2. FSFE handelt in Sachen IPRED2-"Kriminalisierungsrichtlinie"
Ciarán O'Riordan von der FSFE war im April in Brüssel und Straßburg aktiv. Das Parlament hat über den Vorschlag der Europäischen Kommission diskutiert, "Versuch, Beihilfe und Anstiftung" zur Verletzung von Patenten, Urheberrechten und Markenzeichen praktisch vollständig zu kriminalisieren. O'Riordan hat dargelegt, wie das die Freiheit der Gesellschaft beschädigen könnte, Software zu entwickeln, zu vertreiben und damit wirtschaftlich tätig zu sein. Von unschätzbarem Wert war dabei die Hilfe des FSFE-Übersetzungsteams. Das Ergebnis der Abstimmung war, dass Patente vom Vorschlag ausgeschlossen und kleinere Klarstellungen vorgenommen wurden. In den kommenden Entwicklungsstufen dieser Richtlinie wird es noch einiges zu tun geben.

3. Abschrift von Richard M. Stallmans Rede in Brüssel ist online
Die FSFE hat Richard Stallman, den Gründer des GNU-Projekts und Leiter der Free Software Foundation, nach Brüssel eingeladen. Dort präsentierte er den jüngsten Entwurf der GPLv3. Ciarán O'Riordan hat eine Abschrift der Rede angefertigt und sie online gestellt.

4. FSFE auf der A2K2-Konferenz der Yale Law School
Das Information Society Project der Yale Law School organisierte die zweite "Access to Knowledge"-Konferenz (A2K2). Mehr als 300 führende Wissenschaftler und Aktivisten aus über 40 Ländern nahmen daran teil. Anstatt über Wissen und Informationen nur in Bezug auf Monopolisierung und Beschränkung zu diskutieren, wurde auf der A2K2 über Rechte und den Zugang zu Wissen gesprochen. Freie Software spielt dabei eine zentrale Rolle. FSFE-Präsident Georg Greve moderierte die Podiumsdiskussion über Technologen und ihren Einfluss auf die Gesellschaft.
5. Georg Greve und Jonas Öberg in Belgrad, Serbien
Auf Einladung des Free Software Network Serbien (FSN) besuchten FSFE-Präsident Georg Greve und Vizepräsident Jonas Öberg Belgrad, um Freie-Software-Aktivisten aus Serbien, Kroatien und Mazedonien zu treffen. Am Abend sprach Georg Greve über Freie Software und ihren politischen Einfluss auf die Demokratie. Jonas Öberg hielt eine Rede in einem regionalen Kulturzentrum über das SELF-Projekt und Lehrmaterialien zu Freier Software.
6. Ivan Jelic schließt sich dem europäischen Kernteam der FSFE an
Der Gründer und Vorsitzende des Free Software Network Serbien, Ivan Jelic, ist das neueste Mitglied des europäischen Kernteams der FSFE aus engagierten Freiwilligen. Er wird das serbische FSFE-Team koordinieren und auch in der Systemadministration arbeiten, einem der aktuellen Engpässe.
7. Fanartikel per Online-Bestellung erhältlich
Schon immer wurden T-Shirts und andere Fanartikel auf Veranstaltungen und Messen verkauft. Es kommt jedoch vor, dass an einem Stand bestimmte Designs oder Größen ausgehen, sodass häufig der Wunsch nach einer Online-Bestellung geäußert wurde. Dank dem Webmaster-Team gibt es nun eine Seite, auf der die Fanartikel mit Fotos, Beschreibungen und den erhältlichen Größen zu sehen sind und online bestellt werden können.

Die Free Software Foundation Europe ist eine internationale Organisation. Informationen in so vielen Sprachen wie möglich anzubieten ist unentbehrlich, um Menschen in ganz Europa zu erreichen.
