1. Asamblea General en Viena, Austria
El 7 de mayo del 2005, se celebró en Viena, Austria, la Asamblea General de la FSFE para analizar las actividades realizadas durante el año pasado y planear las actividades para el próximo año. También fue el fin del segundo período electoral para el comité ejecutivo de la FSFE, que presentó el informe ejecutivo de las actividades realizadas durante los dos últimos años. La asamblea general agradeció al comité ejecutivo su excelente trabajo durante estos dos años y, por unanimidad, lo reeligió por completo.

2. Encuentro en Londres de "Access to Knowledge" (A2K)
La iniciativa "Access to Knowledge" (A2K) (acceso al conocimiento) tiene como trasfondo el debate para reformar la Organización Mundial de la Propiedad Intelectual de las Naciones Unidas (OMPI). Durante los días 12 y 13 de mayo, representantes de diversas iniciativas sociales, de universidades y gobiernos, así como activistas independientes, se encontraron para hablar de la posibilidad de presentar a las Naciones Unidas un tratado acerca del «Acceso al Conocimiento». Georg Greve participó en el encuentro por parte de la FSFE e introdujo cuestiones como el Software Libre, las patentes de software y los estándares abiertos. También presidió una reunión acerca de «Autores y Artistas». El tratado del A2K debería ser un punto importante para transformar, realmente, la OMPI en una «Organización Mundial de la Riqueza Intelectual».

3. Listas de discusión en rumano
Después de la traducción de numerosas páginas web de la FSFE al rumano, Adi Roiban se ofreció voluntario para dirigir una lista de discusión, en rumano, de los temas relacionados con el Software Libre (fsfe-ro en feurope.org) y otra acerca del Software Libre en la educación en Romanía (edu-ro en fsfeurope.org). La FSFE se alegra de albergar estas listas de discusión, junto a muchas otras listas de correo relacionadas con el Software Libre.

4. LinuxWorldExpo en Milán, Italia
En la LinuxWorldExpo, que se celebró en Milán, estuvieron presentes la mayoría de miembros del equipo italiano de la FSFE. Stefano Maffulli dio una charla acerca de la Fellowship y participó en una mesa redonda sobre el software libre y los estándares abiertos. Alessandro Rubini habló acerca de la documentación y las cuestiones relativas a la licencia en el desarrollo de un proyecto de software libre, también presidió una sesión de «Linux para sistemas integrados». Emmanuele Somma, del equipo italiano, habló acerca de la adopción del software libre en las instituciones financieras y Free Ekanayaka presentó el proyecto Agnula. Gracias tanto al trabajo de las personas que forman parte del equipo italiano como de voluntarios, se consiguió un récord de donaciones, la mayor cantidad recaudada en un evento italiano de la FSFE.
5. Linuxwochen Wien en Viena, Austria
Linuxwochen Wien, el mayor evento de Software Libre en Austria tuvo lugar del 24 al 27 de mayo. Karin Kosina inauguró el evento el día 24 y el día 26, dio una charla acerca de la importancia del término «Software Libre». El día 25 Georg Greve dio una conferencia para el día de "B2B y administraciones públicas". Ambos también participaron en varios grupos de discusión.
6. Conferencia sobre las patentes de software en Udine, Italia
Stefano Maffulli, Alessandro Rubini y Fabrizio Veutro, tres miembros del equipo italiano, participaron como ponentes en una conferencia acerca de las patentes de software organizada por la Universidad de Udine. El personal de la universidad organizó el evento para intentar contrarrestar las presiones que se están realizando para impulsar un modelo de patentabilidad ilimitada durante las actividades de la universidad.
7. Alessandro Rubini en Boloña
El 20 de mayo, Alessandro Rubini dio una charla organizada por el profesor Renzo Davoli, en Boloña, en el marco del «Master en Tecnologia del Software Librero e Open source», acerca de los modelos económicos del desarrollo del Software Libre.
8. La FSFE muy activa en Bruselas
Ciaran O'Riordan, el representante a tiempo completo de la FSFE en Bruselas sigue trabajando estrechamente con la FFII en el tema de las patentes de software. Durante este tiempo, se ha reunido con diversos miembros del Parlamento Europeo y ha conseguido buenos contactos con la prensa, como, por ejemplo, con la revista alemana Spiegel y el Wall Street Journal Europe. También organizó, el 2 de julio, una "Freedom Party" (Fiesta de la Libertad) en Bruselas donde los Fellows de la FSFE y otros amigos del Software Libre pudieron encontrarse para celebrar la libertad digital juntos.
9 Fiesta de la Libertad en Berna, Suiza
La organización asociada de la FSFE Wilhem Tux organizó la primera "Freedom Party" suiza en Berna el pasado 21 de mayo. La fiesta, a pesar de ser pequeña, reunió cerca de 25 personas de toda Suiza. Myriam Schweingruber, presidenta de la Wilhem Tux, explicó el trabajo de la FSFE y presentó la Fellowship y su tarjeta criptográfica. Alex Schroeder, vice presidente, destacó la importancia para Suiza, a pesar de no ser miembro de la UE, de colaborar activamente con la FSF Europa en temas tan importantes como, entre otros, las patentes de software y los monopolios de software privativo.
10. La FSFE busca un nuevo estudiante en prácticas
Este mes es el último de prácticas para Karsten Gerloff, el actual estudiante en prácticas en la FSFE. Su trabajo consiste en manejar la mayoría de tareas de oficina de la FSFE, promover la Fellowship y ayudar a Georg Greve en la oficina de Hamburgo, así como, en algunas ocasiones, en sus viajes. La FSFE está buscando a alguien para tomar el relevo del trabajo de Karsten tan pronto como sea posible.
