1. Démystification du format MS-OOXML
Microsoft a beaucoup travaillé à détourner le débat sur son format de document propriétaire Microsoft Office OpenXML (MS-OOXML) de sorte à suggérer qu'il était ouvert, accessible et bon pour archiver des données, et Microsoft a cherché l'aide de plusieurs de ses partenaires pour faire croire qu'il n'y avait pas de danger de blocage des données écrites dans ce format. 2. Première réunion de la Fellowship suédoise à Göteborg
La première réunion de la Fellowship suédoise a eu lieu le 4 juillet à l'ITUniversitetet à Göteborg. Des représentants de la FSFE ont présenté la Fellowship, la GPLv3, le projet SELF et les activités de Richard Stallman à l'UE, en Suède pour 2007. De nombreux participants voulaient s'engager plus dans les activités de la FSFE et il a été convenu qu'il serait utile d'avoir une liste de diffusion pour la communication. Un projet pour l'avenir immédiat est d'organiser un atelier à Göteborg focalisé sur la GPLv3.
3. Le Logiciel Libre au festival Exit 2007, à Novi Sad, Serbie
Des membres de l'équipe serbe on participé à un événement public lié au Logiciel Libre et aux Standards Ouverts au festival de musique Exit 2007 à Novi Sad. Ivan Jelić a participé à la discussion "Libre et Ouverte" sur la scène MyExit, le rassemblement du réseau social MyExit. Il a parlé des quatre libertés du Logiciel Libre et de son impact social, avec la participation de représentants d'autres organisations actives dans le domaine du Logiciel Libre et les représentants régionaux de Red Hat. Un jour plus tard, Ivan Čukić a fait un discours sur la scène de l'Agora, un endroit dédié au secteur des ONG serbes et de la région. Ivan a introduit l'audience aux principes de base du Logiciel Libre, en parlant du Réseau Logiciel Libre de Serbie, de la FSFE et des projets et activités en cours.

4. La liberté sur les collines: la Bergtagung
Les Fellows de la FSFE Ramon Cahenzli et Alex Antener ont organisé du 20 au 22 juillet 2007 dans les Alpes suisses un événement appelé Bergtagung. Dans le petit village de Siat des hackers, des artistes numériques et des geeks se sont rencontrés pour faire de la randonnée, boire de la bière, discuter de théories de conspirations et manger des grillades dans un paysage magnifique. C'est la seconde fois qu'un tel événement a lieu, avec un troisième prévu l'été prochain. Pour plus d'informations, voyez le site web:
5. La licence GNU GPL encore une fois confirmée en justice
Les termes de la GNU GPL ont encore une fois été confirmés en tant que contrat liant les deux parties, avec un tribunal allemand qui a arrêté que la compagnie de VoIP Skype faillissait à ses obligations de distributeur. Skype vendait un téléphone basé sur du Logiciel Libre sans respecter les termes de la licence GNU GPL. Harald Welte, de gpl-violations.org, le partenaire de la Freedom Task Force, était le plaignant dans cette affaire. Shane Coughlan, le coordinateur de la FTF, faisait remarquer dans un communiqué de presse que ce cas montrait l'importance de se conformer aux termes de la GNU GPL, et soulignait que les entreprises ne peuvent pas ignorer leurs obligations. La FTF offre une assistance personnalisée pour les entreprises qui utilisent du Logiciel Libre.

6. Soumettez des projets de Logiciel Libre aux Trophées du Libre
Georg Greve, le président de la FSFE, a été invité pour présider le jury des quatrièmes Trophées du Libre, un prix pour les projets de Logiciels Libres les plus innovants et prometteurs, provenant de nombreux pays. Cet important événement promeut les technologies émergentes, encourageant ainsi une plus grande adoption du Logiciel Libre, et il a un objectif clair de promotion professionnelle du Logiciel Libre. Si vous avez le sentiment que votre projet favori n'a pas encore atteint la renommée qu'il mérite, c'est maintenant le moment de parler de ce prix à ses membres et de les y impliquer!

7. Travail en cours sur la diffusion de la compréhension de la GNU GPLv3
Depuis la publication de la GPLv3 il y a un mois, la FSFE a répondu à des questions de la part de projets de Logiciel Libre et d'experts juridiques. Ces questions vont de comment les projets peuvent migrer à la GPLv3 à partir d'autres licences, à comment marchent des clauses spécifiques de la GPLv3 et comment elle bénéficient à la communauté du Logiciel Libre. Il a aussi fallu effectuer un certain travail pour contredire des articles fallacieux, mais le nombre de tels articles a été agréablement faible.
