1. Première réunion de la Fellowship autrichienne
Karin Kosina et Reinhard Müller ont organisé la première réunion de la Fellowship autrichienne, à laquelle les Fellows et d'autres personnes intéressées par le travail de la FSFE ont pu se rencontrer, obtenir des informations à propos de la FSFE et partager leurs expériences et opinions à propos du Logiciel Libre. Vu les échos positifs venant des participants, de telles réunions seront organisées à peu près deux fois par mois à Vienne et d'autres membres de la FSFE vont organiser des événements similaires dans d'autres villes. Tous ces événements seront, comme d'habitude, annoncés sur le site web de la Fellowship.
2. Tweakfest à Zürich
L'Académie zurichoise de Design et d'Art a été pendant deux journées l'hôte de la conférence sur les arts et médias numériques "Tweakfest 2005 - Visions of Digital Life Style". Georg Greve a donné une conférence plénière sur la signification de la liberté numérique et la situation globale de la réglementation du savoir et a ensuite participé à une table ronde intitulée "Droit de la Copie". 3. Sommet Mondial de l'ONU sur la Société de l'Information
Le Sommet Mondial de l'ONU sur la Société de l'Information (WSIS) a connu une couverture médiatique impressionnante pendant le dernier mois, principalement à cause des discussions au sein du Groupe de Travail sur la Gouvernance d'Internet (WGIG). Par contre le travail de la FSFE, qui a été impliquée dans le processus du WSIS dès le début, n'a en grande partie pas été bien reconnu par le grand public au cours des dernières années, bien qu'il apparaisse maintenant avoir porté ses fruits.
À Bilbao, en Espagne, il y avait aussi un Sommet des Villes et Collectivités Locales en préparation du WSIS à Tunis. Environ 2000 représentants locaux venus du monde entier étaient présents et Jonas Öberg représentait la FSFE. Il a fait une présentation à propos des lois sur la liberté de l'information et sur comment cela est lié au Logiciel Libre.
Le président de la FSFE, Georg Greve, a participé à la seconde phase du sommet de Tunis, en Tunisie, en coordonnant l'écriture de la première version des conclusions du groupe de travail issu de la société civile sur Brevets, Copyrights et Marques Déposées (PCT), pour la déclaration finale de la société civile, ainsi qu'en documentant plusieurs des intéressants projets dans son blog et en ayant d'intéressantes discussions avec de nombreuses personnes. Il a aussi participé à un événement parallèle sur l'avenir de l'Organisation Mondiale de la Propriété Intellectuelle (OMPI, ou WIPO), auquel participait le vice-directeur général de l'OMPI Philippe Petit, qui était l'objet d'une grande attention.

4. LinuxWorld Expo à Francfort/Main
La FSFE avait un stand à la LinuxWorld Expo à Francfort/Main, en Allemagne. Volker Dormeyer, Joachim Jakobs, Myriam Schweingruber, Michael Kallas, Bernhard Reiter, Reinhard Müller, Cornelius Wasmund, et Matthias Kirschner ont pu y répondre à de nombreuses questions sur le Logiciel Libre. Encore une fois, Volker a fait du bon travail en organisant la présence de la FSFE à cet événement.
5. Séminaire à Dublin contre la brevetabilité des logiciels
Ciaran O'Riordan a donné la présentation principale et a participé à une session animée de questions et réponses, avec Gareth Bowker, à un séminaire qu'O'Riordan avait organisé avec la Free Software Organisation irlandaise. L'auditoire incluait des journalistes, des décideurs politiques et le plus grand des groupes de pression professionnels irlandais pour les brevets logiciels. 6. 5èmes Jornadas Regionales de Software Libre à Rosario (Argentine)
Les "Jornadas Regionales de Software Libre" sont un événement itinérant en Argentine et la 5ème édition a été organisée à Rosario par un groupe très dévoué de militants pour le Logiciel Libre. Georg Greve a donné une présentation intitulée "La Liberté Numérique: pourquoi est-ce important et comment la protéger?" et a profité de l'occasion pour passer du temps avec la communauté du Logiciel Libre d'Amérique latine. Aussi, après que la plus grande partie de l'événement a été passée à discuter des statuts et à donner à tous les participants à la conférence une possibilité de les commenter, le lancement officiel de la nouvelle organisation sœur de la FSFE, la Free Software Foundation Latin America (FSFLA), a eu lieu. Au nom de la FSFE, Georg Greve a participé en tant qu'invité à la présentation officielle de la FSFLA et lui a souhaité la bienvenue dans le réseau mondial des Free Software Foundations.
7. LinuxDay en Italie
Le LinuxDay est un ensemble d'événements dans toute l'Italie concernant le Logiciel Libre, qui est coordonné par la Société Linux d'Italie et qui est organisé par des groupes locaux d'utilisateurs. La FSFE a participé pour la première fois au niveau national cette année, en envoyant un message vidéo de Stefano Maffulli, qui souhaitait à tout le monde que ce soit une grande journée pour la communauté italienne du Logiciel Libre. La vidéo de 8 minutes couvrait l'histoire du mouvement du Logiciel Libre, les succès et les batailles à venir, en incluant IPRED2 et le combat contre la scandaleuse loi Urbani.

8. Suppression du Logiciel Libre des "Conclusions de Vienne" du WSIS
En Juin 2005, les membres de la FSFE Georg Greve et Karin Kosina ont participé à la conférence "TIC et Créativité" à Vienne. Le résultat de cette conférence a été les "Conclusions de Vienne", qui sont substantiellement différentes de ce que le groupe de travail avait conclu à Vienne: toutes les références au Logiciel Libre ont été supprimées, une promotion du Digital Restriction Management (DRM) a été ajoutée et des déclarations sur le rôle central du logiciel dans la société de l'information ont été affaiblies -- apparemment sur la demande de Microsoft et de l'IFPI.

9. Bienvenue à la Free Software Foundation Latin America
Avec son implication dans des organisations de l'ONU telles que WSIS ou l'OMPI (WIPO), la Free Software Foundation Europe a étendu son travail au-delà des frontières de l'Europe. En regard de ces expériences, la FSFE soutient plus que jamais le concept d'un réseau égalitaire mondial de Free Software Foundations travaillant en étroite coopération.
Toute la Free Software Foundation Europe est fière et heureuse d'avoir pu participer à la création de sa nouvelle organisation sœur. La FSFE souhaite chaleureusement la bienvenue à la FSFLA dans le réseau des Free Software Foundations et s'attend à une coopération fructueuse.
