Bienvenue à la lettre d'information du mois d'octobre de la FSFE. Ce mois-ci, des questions sur l'interopérabilité, le développement durable dans les TIC, et les Logiciels Libres dans l'éducation ont reçu une attention particulière. Il ya aussi des changements dans la FSFE, avec la Fellowship qui révise son infrastructure et des projets à long-terme comme les réseaux juridiques et techniques grandissants de la FTF. Des projets passionnants sans aucun doute.

1. La bataille décennale entre la Commission Européenne et Microsoft est terminée
La Commission Européenne et Microsoft ont convenu que Microsoft respecte enfin les obligations contenues dans la décision de la Commission de 2004 contre l'entreprise de Seattle. La Commission avait statué que Microsoft faussait le marché en ne fournissant pas d'informations sur l'interopérabilié de leurs produits. Microsoft avait fait appel contre la décision de la Commission et perdu face à la Cour Européenne en première instance. Une partie de la décision exige des informations et des brevets raisonnables et non discriminatoires pour l'interopérabilité. Une des raisons était l'intention de permettre à des projets de logiciels libres comme Samba à avoir accès à l'information, et nos experts juridiques sont actuellement en train d'évaluer si les conditions convenues répondent à ces exigences. Ce qui est certain, c'est que Microsoft ne déposera pas de recours contre le jugement du Tribunal de première instance, qui est devenu final et définitif. 2. La FSFE à un événement d'information sur les Logiciels Libres dans une école Autrichienne
Comme indiqué dans un bulletin précédent, une école publique en Autriche la "BG Rechte Kremszeile" a opté pour l'utilisation de Logiciels Libres. Récemment, l'école a organisé un événement afin de communiquer leur expérience de migration. Trois orateurs de la FSFE et de la Fellowship de Vienne ont été invités à parler des concepts généraux du Logiciel Libre. Un certain nombre d'enseignants ainsi que les décideurs d'autres écoles ont participé à la manifestation et ont montré un intérêt à l'adoption de solutions libres pour leurs propres écoles.

3. Le coordonnateur adjoint allemand de la FSFE discute sur les technologies de l'information durables à Berlin, Allemagne.
Matthias Kirschner, coordonnateur adjoint allemand de la FSFE, a pris part à une table ronde lors de la conférence sur les Technologies de l'Information durables le 18 Octobre. Le thème était "Technologie de l'Information durable Comment des logiciels peuvent-ils contribuer à la protection des ressources et à une répartition équitable des Connaissances. "

4. Sun offre un serveur T1000 à la FSFE.
Sun a fait don d'un serveur T1000 à la Fellowship de la FSFE Fellowship. "Le travail qu'entreprend La Free Software Foundation Europe est important pour nous tous. Sun est honoré d'avoir fait don d'un serveur Sun Fire (TM) T1000, basé sur la puce OpenSPARC (TM) sous licence GPL, mettant sa puissance en oeuvre pour le site de la Fellowship de la FSFE", souligne Simon Phipps, Chief Open Source Officer, Sun Microsystems, Inc. Grâce à ce nouveau matériel la FSFE est en mesure d'améliorer la présence en ligne de la Fellowship et de fournir de nouveaux services à l'ensemble de nos sympathisants.

5. Les Fellows planifient l'avenir du portail de la Fellowship.
Les Fellows de la FSFE discutent sur l'avenir du portail de la Fellowship. Depuis 2005, le portail fsfe.org a cherché à fournir des outils pour les Fellows afin d'améliorer leur communication et leur collaboration. Le débat actuel porte sur la définition des services les plus importants pour les Fellows aujourd'hui et sur les outils qui seront les plus utiles à l'avenir. La discussion est relative à l'utilisation des forums, des calendriers, des listes de diffusion et autres services. Vous pouvez ajouter votre point de vue en rejoignant la liste:

6. Les réseaux européens Judiciaire et Technique de la FSFE s'accroissent.
La Freedom Task Force de la FSFE s'est attelée à la construction de réseaux juridiques et techniques. L'objectif est de renforcer les fondations juridiques es Logiciels Libres, grâce au renforcement des liens entre des professionnels et des chercheurs actifs sur le continent. Les réseaux ont maintenant 45 experts juridiques et 25 spécialistes techniques, et ont des contacts au Canada, aux États-Unis, à Singapour et à Taïwan. Pour en savoir plus, visitez le site:

7. Réunions à Bruxelles et sensibilisation sur les Logiciels Libres.
Ciaran O'Riordan a été très occupé à Bruxelles. Entre les réunions habituelles ur ODF, O'Riordan a été à Helsinki et Florence, pour parler de GPLv3 et a écrit sur ce propos dans son blog.
