Document Freedom Day (#DFD2015) is a global campaign for document
liberation, with grassroots events throughout the world taking place on
March 25, 2015. Add your voice to this worldwide celebration of Open
Standards, and register your DFD event for 2015![1]
Every year since 2008, people who care about a free information society
celebrate Document Freedom Day to raise awareness of Open Standards[2].
On this day activists around the world come together to talk about
access to communications, run local public activities, and generally
spread the word about Open Standards in a dozen different ways. Be part
of the movement and sign up your DFD team today![3]
== How to get involved ==
"Every year, the most important part of this campaign is being done
by people just like yourself that run local events around the world.
For this, we have made it easier than ever to organise an event"
says Erik Albers, head of the international Document Freedom Day
team. "We are offering promotion materials[4] in many languages, and
artwork you can remix, share and improve[5] to publicise your own
event."
To coordinate this year's DFD campaign, FSFE's Document Freedom Day team
has also built a shiny new website[6], making it easier for you to get
in touch with other people participating in DFD around the world, and
with FSFE's campaign staff.
If you are running a local event, we may be able to offer funding of
your local activities or your local print runs[7] - thanks to DFD's
generous sponsors[8]. To get inspired, take a look at what other groups
from Mexico to Japan did last year[9].

Il 14 febbraio di ogni anno, la Free Software Foundation Europe chiede a
tutti gli utenti che usano il Software Libero di pensare alle persone
che lavorano intensamente nella comunità del Software Libero, e di
mostrare il loro apprezzamento personale durante questa giornata "Io amo
il Software Libero".
Come lo scorso anno[1] la campagna è dedicata alle persone che stanno
dietro il Software Libero, perché ci permettono di usare, studiare,
condividere e migliorare il software che ci consente di lavorare in
libertà. Questa volta la nostra attenzione è specialmente verso i
piccoli contributi nel grande quadro della comunità del Software Libero.
«Quando le persone pensano al Software Libero di cui hanno bisogno e
che apprezzano, molte pensano alle grandi applicazioni più
conosciute. Questi software e le relative organizzazioni sono sì
molto importanti. Ma dobbiamo anche pensare all'infinito numero di
sviluppatori che spendono il loro tempo libero o parte del loro
lavoro per scrivere e migliorare i più minuscoli bit di software da
cui comunque dipendiamo». È ciò che ha detto Max Mehl, il
coordinatore della campagna #ilovefs[2] di quest'anno. «Gli
sviluppatori non sono macchine, e i loro contributi meritano il
nostro rispetto e la nostra gratitudine».
Per la giornata del 2015 "I amo il Software Libero" la FSFE ha molti
suggerimenti su come mostrare l'affetto verso chi sta dietro il Software
Libero, come ad esempio:
- *Immagini -* Un immagine vale più di mille parole. La Free Software
Foundation Europe colleziona già alcune immagini[3] di persone che
mostrano come esprimere il proprio supporto per il Software Libero in
pubblico. È un modo di partecipare molto personale.
- *Cartoline -* Se invece preferisci esprimere i tuoi pensieri con le
parole, le nostre nuove fiammeggianti cartoline ti permettono di
farlo. Sono appropriate sia per il tuo "Valentino", che per lo
sviluppatore del tuo software preferito. Le cartoline si possono
ordinare[4] gratuitamente come tutto il resto del materiale
promozionale della FSFE.
- *#ilovefs* ha sempre un grande impatto online, così la FSFE si aspetta
ancora una volta di vedere molti messaggi in molti linguaggi sui
microblog, i social network, sulle mailing list e nei blog.
- *Donare* agli sviluppatori e alle organizzazioni che si dedicano al
Software Libero è un altro modo di dichiarare il proprio
apprezzamento. Invitali per un drink o fai una donazione ai loro
progetti, alla FSFE[5] o a altri progetti che supportano il Software
Libero[6].
Matthias Kirschner, il vice presidente della FSFE, ha detto: «Il
software è ormai presente in tutti gli aspetti della nostra vita. È
importante che questa tecnologia, anziché limitarci, sia al servizio
della gente. Chi sviluppa il Software Libero dà ad ognuno la libertà
di usare, capire, adattare e condividere il software che ha scritto.
In questo modo si aiuta a dare supporto ad altre libertà
fondamentali come la liberà di parola, la libertà di stampa, e la
privacy». «Non dobbiamo sottovalutare la potenza di un semplice
"grazie" per motivare gli sviluppatori nel loro importante lavoro
per la società. Quindi, diciamo grazie il 14 febbraio!».
