1. Lanciata la piattaforma DRM.info
La tecnologia del Digital Restrictions Management (DRM) interessa tutti gli utenti della tecnologia digitale. Nello stesso tempo, c'è una mancanza quasi totale di dialogo critico. Per rispondere a questo problema, la FSFE ha contattato varie organizzazioni di varie aree, come i diritti dei consumatori, le biblioteche, i diritti digitali e le Creative Commons, ed ha avviato assieme la piattaforma DRM.info per fornire il punto di vista critico che attualmente manca.
Per accompagnare il lancio, la FSFE ha organizzato proteste in varie città, inclusa Zurigo e Goteborg, per informare la gente sul problema che perché il DRM funzioni, gli utenti devono essere come minimo privati della proprietà dei dispositivi che hanno acquistato, cedendo il controllo su di essi a terze parti.

2. Presentazione di Shane M. Coughlan e Maria Luisa Carli
Shane Martin Coughlan ha cominciato a lavorare a tempo pieno per la FSFE come coordinatore di progetto. Shane è nato a Dublino e si è trasferito in Inghilterra per la scuola secondaria. Si è laureato nel 2003 a Birmingham con un MA in Studi Internazionali (Globalizzazione e Governo). É entrato nella FSFE perché crede che l'ICT debba essere disponibile a tutte le componenti della società, e pensa che la FSFE sia in una posizione eccellente per lavorare verso quest'obiettivo.
Maria Luisa Carli lavora come stagista in FSFE dall'ottobre 2006 fino a giugno 2007. Marilu è nata a Foligno, in Italia. Si è laureata nel 2004 in diritto commerciale ed ha fatto un MBA all'Università di Perugia. Marilu è entrata nella FSFE perché era impressionata dall'entusiasmo che guida l'organizzazione e dal team internazionale e motivato.
Entrambi lavorano col presidente della FSFE Georg Greve nel nuovo ufficio della FSFE a Zurigo in Svizzera, che è stato stabilito come terza base operativa dopo Düsseldorf e Goteborg.
3. La FSFE ha aiutato a liberare la banca dati italiana dei Codici d'Avviamento Postali
Da quando i CAP sono stati aggiornati dalla società italiana Poste Italiane, i file di testo della lista ufficiale dei codici distribuiti in formato compresso sono scomparsi dal sito web di Poste Italiane e del Ministero delle Comunicazioni. Questi file erano usati per sviluppare Software Libero utile in molti ambienti di lavoro. Poste Italiane ha ora reso disponibili i CAP solo con software proprietario ed in formati proprietari (perfino criptati) che girano solo in un unico sistema operativo o con una form di ricerca via web.
Dato che i CAP sono dati pubblici secondo la legge italiana, il team italiano della FSFE ha aiutato gli sviluppatori di Software Libero fornendo una perizia e protezione legale per ricreare la lista dei codici usando un crawler. La FSFE ha promosso anche una lettera aperta al Ministro delle Comunicazioni chiedendo di rilasciare la lista dei CAP come in precedenza.

4. FSFE alle fiere LWE ad Utrecht (Olanda) ed a Londra (Gran Bretagna)
Durante la LWE 2006 ad Utrecht, il presidente della FSFE Georg Greve ha tenuto una presentazione sul valore strategico del Software Libero nelle attività economiche, come parte di una lezione di Software Libero in collaborazione con Harald Welte. L'intervento è servito anche a presentare e promuovere al pubblico il progetto "Scientific Education and Learning in Freedom" (SELF).
Gareth Bowker e Rainer Kersten della FSFE sono stati a Londra a presidiare uno stand al LinuxWorld Expo il 25 e 26 ottobre. La fiera in sè stessa ha avuto molto successo, avendo fatto crescere una significativa consapevolezza del lavoro che la FSFE fa in Europa - così come fornendo alle masse del Regno Unito l'ultima moda della FSFE! Un grazie deve andare anche a Richard Smedley e Simon Morris per aver aiutato nello stand.
5. Il team svedese della FSFE agli Internetdagarna (Giornate Internet) a Stoccolma (Svezia)
Nell'ultima settimana di ottobre, la svedese II Foundation ha tenuto i suoi annuali Internetdagarna a Stoccolma, ai quali la FSFE ha partecipato col suo team svedese. Oltre a tenere uno stand fornendo informazioni sulle nostre attività, il vicepresidente della FSFE Jonas Öberg ha partecipato anche ad un dibattito di esperti sui formati di documento aperti.
Il team svedese della FSFE era là anche in qualità di destinatario dei contributi in denaro che vengono dati ogni anno durante gli Internetdagarna. Il contributo è stato dato al team svedese per essere da supporto alle attività del progetto SELF in Svezia, in particolare nel lavoro con le scuole in Svezia per fornire un insegnamento basato su materiale SELF e creare maggior materiale in svedese.
Anche Henrik Sandklef della FSFE ha ricevuto un contributo dalla II Foundation. Il suo lavoro si focalizzerà sulla traduzione in svedese di manuali ed altra documentazione per GnuPG.
