1. Avanzamento nel processo di consultazione pubblica sulla GPLv3
Il 23 e 24 agosto si è svolta la 4a Conferenza Internazionale sulla GPLv3 a Bangalore, India. L'evento è stato organizzato dall'organizzazione sorella della FSFE, la Free Software Foundation India, e la FSFE ha aiutato gli organizzatori condividendo l'esperienza derivata dalla 3a Conferenza a Barcellona.
Per quanto riguarda l'Europa, la FSFE tiene ancora un alto numero di apparizioni pubbliche per informare la gente sull'essenza e le motivazioni dei cambiamenti proposti nella GPLv3. Le più importanti: Jonas Öberg ha presentato la GPLv3 ad uno degli incontri regolari di Dataföreningen, l'associazione informatica svedese, e Ciarán O'Riordan ha tenuto un intervento al Gruppo Utenti Unix Danesi DKUUG.

2. Il progetto SELF emette una richiesta di materiale
SELF (Science Education and Learning in Freedom), un progetto finanziato dalla UE per creare e raccogliere materiale educativo sul Software Libero e gli standard aperti, ha emesso una richiesta di materiale. Tutti quelli che siano a conoscenza dell'esistenza di materiale che potrebbe essere interessante per il progetto SELF sono incoraggiati a registrarlo in rete così che possa essere valutato e considerato per la piattaforma SELF.

3. Nuovo ufficio in Svezia
Grazie alla cooperazione con l'Università di Göteborg, la FSFE è riuscita ad aprire un ufficio in Svezia. Ciò aiuterà la FSFE a costruire una sempre più forte presenza nella regione nordica e a dare ai volontari ed impiegati della FSFE in Svezia un posto permanente da cui lavorare.
4. La Scuola d'Arte e Design di Zurigo offre casa al nuovo server della FSFE
La Scuola d'Arte e Design di Zurigo (HGKZ, Hochschule für Gestaltung und Kunst Zürich) supporta la FSFE donando spazio e banda per un nuovo server. Questo è un importante e prezioso contributo a FSFE, che ha utilizzato l'opportunità della pausa estiva per consolidare e migliorare ulteriormente la sua infrastruttura di server.
5. Giacomo Poderi termina il suo stage
Agosto è stato l'ultimo mese dello stage di Giacomo Poderi. La FSFE lo ringrazia per il suo lavoro prezioso ed affidabile. Giacomo ha trovato il suo stage un'esperienza veramente formativa, dove ha avuto anche la possibilità di vedere come una viva ed attiva organizzazione come FSFE lavora per cercare di assicurare che i diritti nell''era digitale' non siano ignorati. Giacomo rimane un membro attivo della FSFE e continuerà a contribuire nel team italiano.
6. Alex Antener entra nel team centrale
Alex Antener di Zurigo è entrato nel team centrale di FSFE come primo membro svizzero. L'obiettivo del suo lavoro è costruire un team forte per supportare il Software Libero in Svizzera, in cooperazione con le organizzazioni associate di FSFE. Avendo frequentato una scuola di arti invece di una scuola tecnica, ha come obiettivo anche quello di fornire un ponte tra i temi del Software Libero da una parte e l'educazione e cultura dall'altra.
