1. FTF rilascia consigli utili per il rispetto delle licenze
La Freedom Task Force (FTF) è orgogliosa di annunciare un altro piccolo passo per rendere le informazioni sulle licenze per il Software Libero più accessibili. Con la collaborazione dei nostri volontari abbiamo introdotto alcuni utili consigli per il rispetto della GNU GPL, per fare in modo che utenti e distributori riescano a trarre il massimo dal Software Libero e per fornire un punto di riferimento autorevole su questo argomento. Grazie al duro lavoro dei nostri traduttori sono disponibili due guide in inglese, portoghese e olandese, con le versioni francese, tedesca e italiana presto in arrivo.

2. Discorso sulla GPLv3 a Bruxelles
Continua lo sforzo di FSFE per diffondere consapevolezza e spiegare ciò che sta accadendo all'interno del processo GPLv3: Ciaran O'Riordan ha organizzato un discorso di Richard Stallman sulla GPLv3. Una trascrizione di questo discorso è già disponibile online. L'evento è stato organizzato in collaborazione con Association Electronique Libre.

3. Incontro per il lancio di STACS a Parigi
Lo STACS (Science, Technology and Civil Society) è un progetto finanziato dall'UE che mira a colmare il divario tra la società civile e la ricerca. Questo scopo verrà perseguito preparando le organizzazioni della società civile attraverso una serie di sessioni educative che le aiuteranno ad avvicinarsi alle questioni della ricerca scientifica.
Attraverso una serie di seminari, STACS cercherà anche di coinvolgere ricercatori in cooperazioni con le organizzazioni della società civile, identificando argomenti di ricerca e favorendo l'incontro di ambo le parti per possibili progetti futuri all'interno del Settimo Programma Quadro dell'UE.
All'interno di questo programma FSFE organizzerà un seminario e una sessione educativa sul Software Libero. FSFE è anche coinvolta nella creazione delle pagine web del progetto, che saranno realizzate utilizzando interamente Software Libero.

4. FSFE ringrazia Google per il finanziamento di un anno di tirocinio
Iniziati nel 2004, i tirocini alla FSFE hanno dato la possibilità a diversi giovani di imparare tutto sul Software Libero e di lavorare come membri del team di FSFE. Molti di questi tirocinanti hanno una formazione in management, scienze sociali, giurisprudenza e amministrazione, e possono così aiutare ad educare la prossima generazione di manager e ricercatori al Software Libero. Visto il risultato dell'esperienza positiva derivante dai precedenti tirocinanti e dalle molte richieste di potenziali candidati, FSFE spera di estendere e far progredire il suo programma di tirocinio e oggi desidera ringraziare Google per averci aiutato a rendere questo possibile

5. Presentazione dei nuovi tirocinanti presso la FSFE
Guillaume Yziquel è il nuovo tirocinante di FSFE a Zurigo, dove lavorerà fino a settembre. Guillaume è nato a Grenoble e ha ottenuto il master in matematica presso l'École Polytechnique di Parigi nel 2006. E' un utente di Software Libero sin dal 2001, quando ha conosciuto il team di sviluppatori di VLC. Si concentrerà sulla promozione degli standard aperti e assisterà la Freedom Task Force, mentre si occuperà anche di questioni quotidiane in qualità di assistente di Georg Greve.
Christof Thim si è unito a FSFE come tirocinante all'interno del team svedese a Gotheborg. Christof ha ricevuto il suo diploma di business e informatica alla Scuola di Economia di Berlino, dopodiché ha deciso di studiare sociologia, scienze politiche ed economia all'Università di Potsdam. Christof si è avvicinato al Software Libero durante il suo lavoro in IBM nel 2001. A Gotheborg si occuperà principalmente della parte svedese del progetto SELF e della preparazione delle proposte per il Programma del Settimo Quadro dell'UE.
6. Annuncio di un nuovo meeting italiano della Fellowship
E' in corso l'organizzazione di un incontro della Fellowship che avrà luogo a Cosenza il 13 maggio in una bellissima zona del sud Italia. Sarà un'occasione per i Fellow di incontrarsi e portare avanti le idee proposte durante il primo incontro internazionale dei Fellow di Bolzano.
